  • Long way away in Perthshire, but since there's no PerthFGSS site this seems the best place to be for FG SS info.

There is a fairly large Bristol fixed gear scene, they must have a drinks night at some point during the week.

  • Check out the Social Group Forums. Bristol info on there.

miles away from me then (east freo)

get your clacker over here - the weather's amazing! :)

  • well that's what i have:

@ danii that's a great looking bike & looks like it's in great condition. I'm with Ed, don't put very modern components on the old frame.

Also I may be wrong here but the wheels look like 650 tubs, which means you may have clearance issues fitting 700s. Personally i think cleaning & polishing up the bike and perhaps a new saddle & bartape would finish this up nicely with out the need to kill any puppies.

  • Hi.
    Greetings from "up North"
Thought I'd check out this site as I'm just about to buy another Fixie to hack about on 'till I can get ovet to spain to bring my old favourite back home. Just wondered if any of you have seen these ebay cheapies in the flesh and just how bad are they? #280299054748

  • Oh dear,
just found the Unipack thread. Can this be the same bike?...............will it really kill me?

  • you WILL die!

... we'll I dunno really, but from what everyone else says, and intuition, they're crap.

You would be better off doing a conversion or finding a cheap track frame, and at least what you'll end with will be more 'personal' and most likely better quality. If you're thrifty you'll be able to do a much better job for a similar or cheaper price.
