About 3 years ago, somebody who looked very like this pitched up outside my (then) place of employment - which is barely a mile from Ravenscourt Gardens, as it happens - pushing a brand new bike which looked just like that. It had started making grinding noises shortly after she collected it from the shop and she was nervous of even pushing it further. Reception called me since I was the resident bike nut. Narrowed it down to a problem inside the sealed chain guard and advised her she'd best take it back to the shop rather than have me take it apart. If that was your friend, she's had not nearly long enough to enjoy that bike. Condolences to her.

also try contacting the bike theft task force ( i'll find a link ) they may have a record of him or even recognise him
go into the police station on brick lane where some of them are based and speak to someone it's theuir manor where the attmpted selling of stolen goods happened they might take more interest .

bike theft task force is dead no longer active, the images and video have been sent to all local stations, he is well known by brick lane bike, apparently cluless about bikes , ask for 100 quid or somthing .
