  • I probably won't last long seeing as without exercise I'm on a 1100 calories per day allowance, which isn't much when you're as greedy as me. But I expect there's some value in not having my body expect a fuckton on a daily basis, so I'm hoping dropping a couple of thousand a day and giving my body a rest will be good for me.

Or I will turn into a monster or something.

  • I find my appetite lags behind my training load. 1100 sounds like next to nothing too. So I guess it'll be tough at the start.

  • I've reached a point where weight is no longer decreasing, but % body fat is. that makes sense, right? sad not to see the scales continue their reasonably constant downward trajectory :/

  • The Mrs keeps telling me "your legs are so much smaller than they were last year".

I clearly need to do more squats.

  • I was doing 80kg squats last night. Makes turbo training feel easier. Not sure of its use on the road, where you may be asked to go up hills. My thighs are already oversized and heavy from rugby forwarding.

As my road bike is currently out of service. I have my track bike on the turbo. This is proving to be an efficient way of melting my thigh muscles too.

  • Have stayed same weight since summer - but body fat % has decreased significantly. Scientific calculations determine I have put on somewhere around 5kg of muscle on.

  • You could just be carrying a 5kg tape worm around...

  • How do people measure body fat? I assumed those scales weren't amazing for cyclists as the electrical current would go through the legs only so give a lower reading to cyclist who have more muscle there.

  • hand stands innit

  • I employ a small child to walk around and 'pinch an inch'

That sounded funnier in my head....

  • DEXA or GTFO >>>

    massive poo

callipers and I have some of those scales. Accuracy is not always great as it seems to vary depending on water levels in the body, but between the two methods I get a pretty good idea.

  • How do people measure body fat?

Badly. The electro-resistance scales are inaccurate although the more expensive ones do tend to be consistently inaccurate, which at least lets you track movement up or down. Calipers are guesswork and voodoo; you might as well just pinch the skin at your waist with your fingers and ask yourself "Am I a bit chubby?"

An unreliable metric is worse than none. Follow other goals.

  • Does someone have some spare self-control they could loan me? Or perhaps a hit of moderation? I'd even consider a half-full bottle of will power.

  • I have some HTFU you can borrow. Don't spill it down your blouse, it doesn't come out.

  • does it offer 24hr protection?

The will power to keep your legs in constant pain and suffer for 24 hrs. But not enougth to resist opening that next ale and Mars bar?

In a far less epic manner. I totally get that.

  • I'm having a scone day. Sultana scones for breakfast and now cheese scones for lunch. I've totally given up weighing myself but I had to use safety pins to prevent my clothes falling off me today so that's proof enough that my scone addiction is good for me.

  • Or you have a moth problem that is far beyond out of control.

  • Can you make moths into scones? If so, IN!

I really don' think you can spare it..

  • ^^^^I reckon it's actually a comedy mixup and hats and tanya are accidentally wearing each others clothes and at t4's workplace people are currently wondering why she is wearing a crop top and 1/2 length trousers in the office..

I like pain and I like food. I don't eat Mars Bars and I skipped beers last night so I guess I have some will power but put me in the middle of a beer festival or offer me a hotel buffet and all bets are off.
