A success story (transcript of my post on facebook):
"Last weekend at a cafe near columbia road, my rear wheel got nicked despite being in eyesight of our table at all times (gimpo thiefo etc etc). I resolved to go to brick lane, a known location of purveyors of material of dubious ownership.
Lo and behold this morning such a purveyor had aforesaid wheel, attached to a mongrel bike of various parts. Not wanting to get into fisticuffs, I called the police then myself and [gf] set up stake out guard duty having established the only entry/exit sites of the area.
The fuzz didn't show after the hour they said they would take, max, so I rang again to express my extreme displeasure, having given [gf] a description of a fellow who was looking at the bike with intention to buy (let's call him Spiky). [gf] catches Spiky leaving having exchanged 70 quid for the bike, and tells him the lay of the land. Whereupon the two of them return to the stall, he gets a full refund and I show up to watch the stall owner take the wheel off and hand it back along with a latex glove to prevent mucky hands!
Not the conclusion I expected to be honest. Then we ate corn dogs, pancakes, bacon, hot dog, fries, and milkshake in celebration."
If anyone is interested it's the stall at the back of the car park on Sclater St with all the blatantly stolen bikes and parts on it (part of a row of 3 the same, in the middle).
I've a video of it that I thought about sending to the CTF or similar, but the guy is not really depicted well - still worth it? Still worth reporting the situation?

Is it CCC branded, picco?
Hi Oliver.
Tiny CTRL sticker on the on the rear mudguard is all.
Pretty unique combination of frame and parts, so if you see one it's most likely ours.
Thanks

Right outside the window of Foxlow Wed night, like, the window man!!!
Fuckers nicked my seat post, Brooks (which was I guess the draw card but they don't know it's slightly bent and an actual pain in the arse!) and my red Ample Man reflektor! Absolutely gutted to lose ample man! Guess a trip to Berlin is in order.
To anyone who has cycled home fixed, sans-seat, what a workout!
To the 3 lovely local gentlemen who:
"hey hey want to swap bikes?"
"Mine doesn't have a fucking seat, got nicked just now"
"Oh no, steal another"
"erm no, that's wrong"
"hey hey, you can sit on my lap"
"erm you wish"
Thanks, actually make me laugh out loud for a second.Shit-san about your wonderful bikes above. Shall keep an eye out.

Make sure you check the dodgy shops around Boscombe, there's one the far side of the high street towards Pokesdown just on a corner on the left hand side that's particularly sketchy.

Hi - bought this on the forum a couple of years ago and she's been a very trusty steed ever since. Stolen outside Shoreditch High St station last night (locked to Boxpark railings). Main pic/white tires is older, small park pic with black deep rim wheels is more recent set-up. Now has white bar tape, white Charge saddle (seat post is stuck) and chunky black Wellgo pedals with velcro straps.
Frame number is WSBC607000088F and BikeRegister ID etching (on chain stay) is 01 869 37567 in case anyone is offered a cheap deal.
Fairly distinctive bike (until respray!) pls keep an eye out and let me know of any sightings. Also appreciate any intel on where bikes turn up for sale when nicked from this area? Slim chance but would love to get one over on the thieving bastards! Thanks
