  • Heading down shortly for the Saturday session - fingers crossed it is still on as it is a bit damp

  • Saturday session says 11am - 1pm
    I can't chain-gang for two hours straight.
Any problem with me rocking up halfway through?

  • I would turn up for the first half and leave at the break/whenever you feel like it

  • I think the pace might be more to my liking in the second hour than the first... will try my luck

  • I don't think that's right. Inters sessions are treated as a warm up for the first hour with pursuit training then more complex track craft or sprints in the second hour. I doubt they'll let you on in the second hour after missing the first.

  • Absolutely - go, ride until you can't anymore and then stop. Don't be a blouse.

  • Arrived just 30 minutes late in the end..
Wasn't expecting there to be that many riders, intimidating.

Im sort of enjoying the experience of being scared while riding after my repeated clusterfuck of accidents.

Hung well off the back like a blouse, for the whole session.

    Defended my DFL crown
Saw TS up to polo mischief

  • anyone know the track specifications or can help me with what changes i need to make to my new ride, will take the brake off but do i need drops or will pursuit bars be ok,

    Thanks

  • cheers thanks

  • Shit got real.

  • Glad to hear it.

  • needed for Saturday training?

  • Which drills are Lumps and Bumps and Taking a Lap?

  • needed for Saturday training?

It looks like there's an accreditation test to get through before joining any intermediate session.

  • What if you've been doing intermediate sessions already? Are you automatically accredited or is there some fast track accreditation?

  • I think it applies to everyone regardless of experience. If you want to do these things and progress beyond X you need to do Y. Seems to me a reasonable compromise

  • Which drills are Lumps and Bumps and Taking a Lap?

I think *Lumps and Bumps is the one where you're all in a long line, going slowly, weaving up and down the track

    • I mean on purpose
  • That would make sense.
But then I thought that might be Slalom...

    Cooky?

    Yes, pretty much this!

  • What if you've been doing intermediate sessions already? Are you automatically accredited or is there some fast track accreditation?

It's just a one hour pass/fail training accreditation session, so hopefully quick and easy to get through.

You won't need to do the induction again or anything daft like that.

  • I've moved recently to HH so looking to use the velodrome much more now its not an hours ride away. Done inters before, but not for about 9 months (i.e. last spring), would it be okay to sign up for the new accreditation session, or do I need to do some beginners sessions again?

  • Thanks Cooky. Will we be able to accreditation before the full program of weekend training resumes?

I've been meaning to get down to the Saturday winter sessions, but when I've been free the weather has been shit.

  • Branwen. Anyone can sign up to the training accreditation, whenever they feel they're ready. If you think your comfortable doing the exercises mentioned on the page then go for it. Probably worth doing one or two sessions to get back into the swing of it.

Roboto. There are loads of accreditation sessions throughout March (more than are currently listed on the website). You will be able to ride any sessions as normal during march, then the rules come into place in April. So you have time to get accredited before it's all enforced.

    Hope this helps
