if that Gazelle Blauw CM is the object of your inquiry... expect anti respray police in 3, 2, 1...
;-)
Maybe you have seen this colour chart.
looking at the digital RAL chart I'd say 5005 or 5010 looks close:
of course this is a very tricky way of choosing a colour and you will probably not find an exact RAL match. Best is to take a bike in that colour to the paint shop and compare it to an actual colour fan or can.

^I have the frame in that colour if you wanted to check it in the flesh... based in N1
it is actually that frame in the colour chart link, got on ebay from the states a few years ago - building it up for L'eroica Britannia as it is pictured, it's the one that got me hooked on Gazelles... paid a fortune but had to have it...
(I know it should be full campag - (team vredestein?) but this is/was my dream bike before I got into this obsession with period correct restorations...)

I'll be at Eroica Brittania on my Gazelle. We should start a fringe event...

I'll be on my Monostay or Mattyc's for L'Eroica Brit. Anybody know if Shimano AX will be allowed?
possibilities of London Gazelle meet??

What are the rules for these? Steel and downtube shifters, pretty much anything else goes?
brake cables exposed - not aero under the bartape (unless it is aero kit from pre 1987 - like your AX group I believe S&B)
pedals and cages, no spds etc...
has everyone got an old Gazelle jersey?

also what distance are people thinking of doing?
anyone up for the 100mile route?
-
• #1784
Full rules about the bike are on page two of this document. http://www.eroicabritannia.co.uk/file/rules
I've signed up to the 50-mile route as I didn't think my other half would much fancy the 100-mile trek.

^wow... ok - let us know if you have a change of heart...
re:Gazelle ride - sounds good... what are the few rules? just curious...

I presume that some Gazelles came out of the factory custom made to customers specifications with Italian threaded bottom bracket shells. Does anyone know how reasonable it is to assume that a normal Gazelle came out of the factory with an English threaded BB shell?
I think that never a new frame left the Gazelle factory with italian threading.
Only possibility is that someone stripped the BC treads accidentally and that the original BB threading was chased with italian thread cutting tools.Even for a "dream bike", Gazelle wouldn't make a frame with italian threads. It would just be a silly request, not making any sense.

Is it full of people who genuinely love riding completely outdated technology, or what percentage are people who go out of their way to buy outdated technology purely so that they can take part?
Derp.
It's a vintage ride, duh. Some people out there in the real world decided to do something that interests them. It doesn't interest you. Working yourself into a snit and feeling all excluded is pointless and illogical. Doing whatever interests you, instead, is the more appropriate response.

^wow, indeed. i hope someone off here snaps it up and takes some decent pictures of it

the quest for a small track frame ended. I hope the TT isn't too long though there's ways around that.
So, late 90s I think? Early 2000s?
Reynolds 531 (poss c) judging by decal, and has the nice little animal cutouts in fork and...seatpost cluster :)

Bike sales are bad ATM it seems, I missed out due to my hesitation on an Columbus Spirit Tokyo Fixed frame for a mere £200 on the bay...

Good afternoon all,
I am busy building my 1975 A-frame and after 4 attempts, have a headset which works. And, to be clear, I have not painted it - as everyone advised!!!
I have had some comments about my choice of components - SR bars, stem, seat post with Dura Ace cranks, mechs, levers, brakes, brake levers. I would be interested to hear comments from the experts here about this choice. Here are a few pics -
The Dura Ace stuff looks great but I am a little concerned it may not 'suit' the frame. My original plan was for a Suntour VX build but the DA stuff appeared and i could not resist. It is very doubtful that I will revert back to VX but I might.
Your valued opinion please.
Richard
p.s. COME ON IRELAND!!!!
