So I would love to have Gazelle Goldline stem for the Piste. I will be scouring Marktplaats and tweedehands.nl, any other places you can think of?
I may go for some colour on this, as it was the done thing in the 90s. Hard line between colour and anti though...unless I get the right Gazelle parts.
This short red one should fit the bill (the red returns in the lettering and decor paint on yours...):

Good afternoon all,
The Dura Ace stuff looks great but I am a little concerned it may not 'suit' the frame. My original plan was for a Suntour VX build but the DA stuff appeared and i could not resist. It is very doubtful that I will revert back to VX but I might.Your valued opinion please.
Looks just lovely with the early DA. If you're concerned about the time period you could consider replacing the '80s Rolls with a '70s Cinelli Unicanitor or Arius Gran Carrera Special, bit it's a lovely bike anyway.

:) I could put risers on it.
That's one way to ensure I have to sleep on the sofa...or have guilt for a few months lol.
I have a Charge Hob with 54 TT length, and a 110 stem I am going to find some cheap bars who knows...maybe it does fit due to aggressive forward angles.

Hey guys, I got this Gazelle frame lying around a while now. I am looking for some additional information on it, it needs to find a new owner soon, right now it's just occupying space. If you know someone who could be interested in this kind of frame, it would be cool, if you could forward this.
There are no decals, but I think it's made of R653. It has these huge Silva dropouts which I only found on other 653 Gazelle frames. Is it possible to verify the tube set this way?
Serial starts with 102, so I guess it is from 91? It's got 130mm rear spacing and was equipped with DA7402.

Paint job looks custom, could it be a team paint job?
The order forms at the bottom along with brochures may shed light on that?

Yes, exactly what I was told, custom paint job from a small Belgian team.
I bought it from Belgium of marktplaats, but couldn't verify all the information from the seller. I had a really nice conversation with him, but in the end he couldn't ask his colleague who rode the bike in races and then it dried up.
The seller's name was Friedrich Hogerheyde, he refered to himself as Frits. I found an ex-pro rider with a similar name, but the spelling is different
http://www.dewielersite.net/db2/wielersite/coureurfiche.php?coureurid=9178He told me he sells it from his collection, he even send me a picture of him riding on an old Mercier in the early 70s and some newspaper articles when he won a criterium near the city here in Germany where I live. Kinda crazy, I still have the e-mails.
So it could be a true story with the paint job? Funny that you called it, I always doubted that.

Gazelle states in their brochures they do team jobs (I perused quite a few) and special paint is extra moniez. People tend not to spend extra money unless they have to :P
You could put a modern economic group on it (used 105) and modern bars and could rip up the road with it now that summer comes ;)

For a post-Champion Mondial era Gazelle, I think that's a proper looker. And yep: nice 105 groupset and that would make a terrific bike. Any idea on size? And price?
Meanwhile, for those of a more traditional bent: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/gazelle-champion-mondial-frame-54-square-531-reynolds-butted-stays-forks-/111278028050?pt=UK_Health_Beauty_Fragrances_Women_s_Fragrances_PP&hash=item19e8aff512
I could probably pick up from Hove sometime soon if anyone in London wanted it.
