I've been wearing them to drive about to ensure I've no issues fit wise, omg they're so comfy and the soles are nice and stiff. And they look ok with casual pants as well, which surprised me.
Update: 100 miler in floods and snow ride, my Quoc Pham fixie shoes got soaked due to riding thru a flooded road about 3 miles in. Luckily I had put on some wool socks, the shoes were really comfy for the ride with no hot spotting at all - well worth the money. Even though I got mine cheaper, I'd not hesitate paying full price in the future, quality shoes.

I got the DZR Midnight.
Good:- Looks nice
- Easy to walk with (I used them at work office)
- pretty windproof and warm
Bad:
- Not waterproof at all. Ride 5 minutes under the rain and you'll get your feet totally wet.
- The laces are sooooo long.
- Looks nice

Any reccomendations for something similar to the chrome Kursk that doesn't cost nearly £100? Something black and trainer-y and not too clumpy.

DZR Minna - they are very comfy, not too clumpy and the cleat is totally recessed. They look better in person too.

They look good, cheers. How do they fit in terms of sizing?
-

Ah balls, they're made of leather. I should have specified, I'm vegan so no leather please!
-
• #883
The ones I had were vegan, they were pretty good but didn't last as long as I'd have liked, might last longer without polo though.

Check on ebay. I bought brand new DZR Midnight for 60€.

I sacked it off in the end and went for some giro privateers. I don't mind looking like a dick.

I love DZRs but durable they are not.

I know Sportspursuit is persona-non-grata on LFGSS and for good reason, but if anyone was desperate for cheap casual SPD shoes and don't mind looking like a Camberwell art student du jour they are doing Carnac 661 Impact shoes for ~£20

Just twatted my Kursks after 5 months.... well.
Debating whether to go for something along the casual lines again, or just get a pair of dominators or something similar. Recommendations for long lasting shoes?
-
• #890
Dominators, they last forever.
Or just get clip and strap and start wearing boots.
-
• #891
dominators UK with the replaceable, sidi dragons or the Giro Republic
-
• #892
dancing james, I had a quick look online with no luck, have you any idea where to get and how much the replacement soles for the Giro Republic are?
-
• #893
I'll have to check with our distributor when I'm back at work.
-
• #894
Currently no replacement soles in the uk, I have tweeted giro and their uk distributor regarding this.

I'm gonna have to find out from Madison if they're selling the Giro well, if they are, they should get some insoles pronto given that a request will be likely in the next couple of months due to people walking their bicycle by the stem.
Rather liking the all-black one;

dancing james and ed, if you have a reply or any lead, would you mind passing on the info? Haven't bought the shoes yet but will be soon and kind of want to know how much the soles are before buying the shoes.
The all black ones do look rather nice...
actually I might email the chaps at always riding see if they could / have plans to get some soles in as they are selling the shoes. I have always found them very helpful and willing to walk the extra mile.

Always riding said not yet in stock

Meh. Those Giros look like proper cycling shoes (albeit plain ones), which is not the purpose of this thread.
-
• #899
they look like NFL cleats / football boots / rugby boots
would look good with an arsenal kit on
