• Never seen that before.

  • Ha! I meant more in a witness on here who can be encouraged to report it officially.

Understand that it may have been already but you never know.

  • Check the last page.

  • I got stopped by a copper on horse back on Great Percy street, he was stopping bikes that have gone on the wrong side of the rode to get up the hill (from kings cross road).

Fair enough tbh I have seen many close calls between people using the zebra crossing and dicks on bikes not wanting to lose their momentum.

  • uhm... do u even rode?

  • bikes that have gone on the rong side of the rowed

    ftfy

  • FN52 EEY reported on roadsafe:

I was cycling southbound on Grove Road approaching the roundabout with Old Ford Road. Immediately prior to this roundabout there is a pedestrian crossing and speed hump. As I approached the pedestrian crossing I looked behind me, and saw the car in question following at a sensible distance and speed. I then indicated right, as to take a central position on the road to carry on straight through the roundabout. Immediately after I changed my road position, the car behind accelerated heavily (with about 20-30 yards to go to the roundabout) fully into the other side of the road, swerved back in to the left and then had to slam on his brakes in order to avoid rear-ending the car that was waiting to proceed at the junction.

While I was in no immediate danger myself, I am reporting this as that roundabout is dangerous at the best of time. There is a large garden on top so there is no visibility through it. Traffic coming northbound through the roundabout enters it from a hill and so often comes through at speed. Being next a park there are often also pedestrians crossing there too.

This was an extremely unnecessary and dangerous overtake across a pedestrian crossing for what amounted to being one vehicle ahead at the intersection.

  • FN52 EEY reported on roadsafe:

well done for reporting it. that manoeuvre is so completely pointless its untrue.

i got an email through this morning from roadsafe saying the driver who nearly forced me off the road whilst his passengers were leaning out the window swearing will receive a letter. woopie do but at least if more people report him at least it might flag up on some system somewhere.

  • Roadsafed london bus D7 - LG61 GW0. Fat chance it will help...

  • This morning crossing over Holloway road via the ASL in Drayton Park road over to Palmer place I was deliberately driven at and into by a lady who was 1) late for work 2) didn't see me 3) we were all in the way (15+ cyclists) waiting in the ASL for lights to change 4) we should be on the left 5) and the best "it wasn't deliberate but you were in my way!!" - these are just some of the excuses she gave.

Usually i take these with a pinch of salt, but only my bike handling stopped me going under the car, I felt a weird sensation on my back wheel (thought is was gravel etc) but no it was a car, i bunny hopped across to the left to get out her way as she sped through the lights and nearly hit a car head on!

She only stopped when she was pulled up by other cyclists and car drivers, who all told me she deliberately aimed at me and then soon as she hit me panicked and tried to flee the scene but was stopped by crossing traffic at a set of light further up the road.

I 'discussed' with her why she felt it was perfectly acceptable to try mowing me down because of the above excuses, which i get told to 'f' off. Luckily i got a fair few witnesses both cyclists and car drivers, and have reported it to the police (101) who where very helpful but also told me to get a 'fail to stop at the scene of an accident' form, as this was a hit and run and the amount of CCTV there and witnesses should back up my complaint.

The most frighting thing was her attitude in the face of all that evidence confirming what she had done, denial then total 'so what' - even if she just get a visit from the police and a telling off maybe that will make her think about her actions.

Anyway at least it's Friday every cloud and all that, I'd say stay safe, but well this is London, so stay alert and don't let the feckers have an inch!!

update to this - Court date booked 18/02/14 - I'm a Witness and the police and CJS are following up. will update once trial is complete - took a while but glad it's got to court

  • Wow, that's amazing luck.

  • Brilliant news. Let us know how it goes.

  • update to this - Court date booked 18/02/14 - I'm a Witness and the police and CJS are following up. will update once trial is complete - took a while but glad it's got to court

    Good luck with it.

    When was the incident?

  • Good luck with it.

    When was the incident?

Back in Nov 2012 so taken a while to get to court..tbh i thought it wasn't going anywhere and had forgotten about it, so pleasant surprise getting contacted by CPS last week.

  • 2012!!!!!

Fuck! Was the CPS hoping you had emigrated or something?

    The lazy fuckers.

Lets hope the dozy bint gets shoehorned into a skip, then crushed.

One less* the-road-is-mine-kinda-twat* off the roads...

    Good Luck! ;-)

  • So thats a year plus of being allowed to continue being unsafe on the roads? Terrible system. Hope it all goes well for you!

  • Lets hope the dozy bint gets shoehorned into a skip, then crushed.

All I can do is imaging the shock and horror when she realised that she did not actually get away with it and having to go to court.

  • Fucking party pooper.

  • So two Tuesdays, two separate incidents with the prick who drives a black Range Rover through Dalston/Hackney reg PK10 ***. On Tuesday 28 Jan, me & another cyclist were trying to turn right from Cecilia road onto Downs Park Rd. A nervous driver was trying to turn from other way so we let her turn first. I then made my turn when a guy comes from behind revving his engine & cuts me up, almost hitting me as I'm negotiating a speed hump. He then sped through the next red lights. Last night, riding along Queensbridge Road was almost flattened by the same guy overtaking with inches to spare while speeding, he then almost went into the back of another female cyclist. Seems to have a real problem with people on bikes being in front of him.

  • You have his reg. Find out where he lives and then:

    1. Shit on their bonnet.
  • coshgirl, have you reported him to roadsafe? what kind of times do you see the car? that's my usual route, i've not spotted him thus far but will keep an eye out for a massive bellend.

  • Haven't roadsafed it, but am keeping an eye out. I've only seen him around the area on two Tuesday evenings so far. Seems to be about 6.45/7pm ish

  • Remember to keep one in the chamber after work on Tuesdays then.

  • Ha. I had a good view of the driver last night. Didn't look like the type of person you could have a quiet word with...

  • I also use that route in the evenings. The car description sounds familiar. I think I've actually "had words" with him down Kingsland Road one morning too when he decided to cut into the bus lane without checking his mirrors more than once whilst I was cycling beside him.
