I have everything I need for the winter bike now, except the time and patience to cable it and index the gears myself. Off to my old workplace now, hoping there's still someone there I know!
Edit: better (but still rubbish) photo.
I also have everything in place to turn my carbon track tubs into a super anti wheelset for my 853 Donohue.

set about this today , after filing, and milling tried to ream post out
didnt want use chemicals as was worried about pint
i then took it to my mate Mac the engineer, and we tried to kind of ream it out
the frame is tig welded, and sadly, a crack appeard above the weld line on the non drive side of the seatpost collar
I can get it tig welded for a crate of beer, I hope the frame isn't a write orf, shame to waste it -

on the argentovivo, i plumbed for chemical extraction, a rarer frame allegedly, so cannot damage it

Really comfy in all positions.
This was one of my reference builds for the Hwy One. :)
Also the more I think about it, the more the Nitto Dynamic would be a perfect complement to the seat post, a Dura Ace AX with the logos polished off. New cockpit time.

Thanks guys :3
Kalin seatpost ? You should be careful, if it is one.
I have one that is bent backwards.
I even think that yours is already slightly bent.Nice bike tough.
It's the original Kona Race-Light post that came with the bike, don't know if it's actually theirs or a rebrand but I suspect you're right, it was a little skewiff when I got it. Seems to be holding though so with any luck I won't pull a Marco Fontana

Last thing for now on the 853 Claud - yellow or black Flite? I have a black one for it but I have found a yellow one which could look just the right side of ridiculous.

Was gonna build this Crescent branded Merckx i got off a friend up with some spare parts but i'm afraid it's too small. Or maybe i'm just not used to the geometry. Looks funky with the thomson post too..

Started as a Christmas project: take an old hard tail and turn it into a commuter/ going to the pub bike.
Done: slicks, brake bleed rebuild (got a bit carried away and bits came off in my hand), rigid forks, dual sided pedals 1 flat 1 clip in, neww bb and bigger crankset for more top end and some lock on grips..
To do: fix spoke that popped last night. New post (have one lying around) and saddle, fit road cassette (ratios are too far apart at the moment).

a tad bit small I'd say. Surely you can ride it but I'd get a bigger or higher frame.

Finally got around to rattlecanning my front wheel (you can see the breaking surface show already but i'm not too bothered about that)
-
• #87795
why bother rattlecanning it if you are running a brake.
-
• #87796
I wanted the rest of the wheel to be black.

Two valid points, will sort the chain out.
You missed the fact that that my bars are completely mangled (was hit by a car yesterday) check out how far back the left side is bent!
-
• #87799
have you made sure its not cracked?

The bars? I'm taking them off now to check
so. cool.
