Front wheel looks loads better.
Wouldn't touch those bars with a barge pole.
Chain looks a bit tight....

I'm happy now. ;)
Are they fucked?
Bin them. Alloy bars are disposable items. Bin them after a spill or a couple of years.

Cheers guys.
The plan is to get some compacts, probably Bontys. But that involves new stem, levers & funds that I haven't got.
I'll get some cheap risers in the interm, I'll stay away from the nittos this time.

• #87806
Cheers I'll check them out

The bars? I'm taking them off now to check
Always ditch the bar if it bent, even slightly.

I have everything I need for the winter bike now, except the time and patience to cable it and index the gears myself. Off to my old workplace now, hoping there's still someone there I know!
Headtube is massively steep, crit bike? (can't remember if you mentioned it before).

It's an odd bike, not really sure what it's meant for. Brand new it came with RX100 so it clearly wasn't meant as a world beater, but it's a nice 853 frame which only barely clears 25mm tyres. Not really got a clue what Claud Butler were doing making it. But it's fun to ride.

Rebuilt this as I'd like to sell it as a whole, took it for a spin round the block and it's lovely! Every component brand new (other than frame and fork!)
Got some nice compact drops and a prettier stem going on before sale, plus sort out cables, bar angle and bar tape etc

after an appropriate period of self loathing re the stratocaster debacle, some brightness
needs seat adjustment natch, and the scoblesque steerer tube needs cutting, here's a backshot
wheels need trueing, which will sort the bandy spokes out, you can see the Colnago head tube stamp just about, the decor overfilled it..
and I managed to touch up the fork crown area and head tube area that had cable rash, still needs a little smoothing though
I will get a longer stem, preferably cinelli in black -

still haven't found a similar model, so at the mo it's a freak/unique

anyone used Ritchey Pro Paradigm breakless?
Some reviews say that spring tension is only
half as strong as Shimano's -

3 months on and the pile of bike shit is getting bigger.
Still no actual bike though.
-
• #87819
What frame?
amazing pile you got going there.
-
• #87820
Who need frames? just wear it and go fast.
-
• #87821
What frame?
Burls Ti - isn't actually ordered yet, but fit booked for 3 weeks time. Been a long time saving, very excited.

-
• #87823
No I don't - that is from the parts bin in case I get lucky
-
• #87824
well the spec looks awesome so far... I'd be tempted to go for Lizardskins DSP tape personally...

Never even heard of it! Will have a look
So i took the bars off and it looks like there might be a small hairline crack (too small for the camera to pick up on). Are they fucked?
Here's my temporary (not great for commuting/my back) setup. At least the chain & brake lever are sorted miro ;)
