This is pretty much what I've been aiming for with a tarck bike, something that feels fast and comfortable, with tough reliable components that aren't going to let me down and that can be ridden in all conditions without fear of ruining bearings etc.
That's the best incarnation of Donobro yet - such good work- fully agree with you on allweather/everyday tarck build.

Finally had the time/money to build up my Rychtarski frame today
from this -
To this -
Took it out around canary wharf/greenwich for a few miles tonight, really happy with it. Will probs upgrade the crankset at somepoint as it is in theory my 'nice' and not daily bike, but it rides so nice that we'll see.
Sorry fopr the phone pics. (big image - http://i.imgur.com/TZ2cZap.jpg )

that looks ace...what size is it?
-

Huh.
I'm 1,85m, 88cm legs, and 46eu feet, and I need to use an in-line seatpost, starting to see why you have such an unusual set up!this^

Cheers man
58.5 is what the seller claimed, I reckon it's a little bigger though but haven't measured. -

My bike has recently gone through a full transformation
The original set up. (Forks had already been bent back into shape by Ted James after a small crash)
Next to go was the seatpost clamp which sheared off after years of re-tightening
Repaired by Tom Donhue leaving the clamp area exposed
Another small crash meant the forks bent out of true again so I had to replace them
And finally a re-spray by Armourtex
...finished

Nice to see frames in almost the same material, from same builder and similar era, end up quite differently.
I like yours, although would prefer matching tyres (I suspect the mismatch is temporary)
I'm concerned about my seat collar going in the future as I seem to have to get it quite tight before it secures the seatpost.
What are your forks?

Yeah it's great to see another Donohue on the roads. The tyres are part aesthetics and part functionality. At the moment this is my daily bike but I'm in the process of building a daily beater so I use RibMo's because I like how they skid and their durability. I'll be putting another Pasela on the rear when this become my Sunday bike
If your seat collar goes, get in touch with Tom Donhue. He's based in Hackney Wick now and sorted mine out the same day (as a favour) and charged only £45. He will have to remove the paint around the area though
To be honest, I really didn't want to respray it because I like it looking gnarly and with nineties flare but it had to be done

Possibly try using some carbon installation paste (even if it is an alloy post)? - http://www.wiggle.co.uk/tacx-carbon-assembly-compound-80g/

went to bristol to pick up this beast today:
full ultegra 9sp, mid nineties i'm guessing from the octalink BB, ksyrium elite wheels. just pumped up the tyres and whizzed from paddington to london bridge in no time, the beefiest tubes i've ever used, very stiff.
just got to change out the stem and tighten the cones and it'll be my new daily.
p.s. the paint is pearlescent bile, amazing

Are they 650 or 700c? looks odd...
-
• #83615
Tri frame, innit, very steep seat tube. They did do a 650C version but I think that one's 700C.
-
• #83616
yep 700c tri, going to tri it with a short stem with a rise, its already got a set back seatpost so i'm going to see if the new set up is comfortable, worst case scenario i sell it

Cheers for the advice, will cross that bridge when I come to it. I've considered repainting but if I do, will only be for some mad metallic fadez.

The only sensible option for that Klein is risers, Oury's and trigger shifters.
