Spotted a chap on a mash with an aerospoke (I think) heading up Old Christchurch Rd about an hour ago. Nice looking bike!

I went into "Wheelie Great Bike Store" on Lansdowne Road earlier. It looks really dodgy in there, creates everywhere but I was desperate. I was actually really surprised, the guys in there (Ben and Bernard) were both really cool and seemed to know their stuff. They did the bits I needed sorting out on my bike in their workshop and didn't ask for any payment at all (last time I went to Primera in Charminster they charged me £20 to remove a sprocket and took 3 days to do it). They even invited me on a couple of rides! If you're nearby it might be worth just popping in and having a chat!

You could have bought a chain whip online and done it yourself in less time and for half the price! Or I could have lent you mine for nothing.

Yeah, I would have done (and have since!) but I just thought they'd do it there and then for free seeing as it literally a 30 second job!

So is anyone up for a forum ride round the new forest or something? I'm missing riding with other people now I'm back in Bournemouth! There's nothing sadder than going for a ride on your own, especially because today's my birthday, ha ha.

Why not pop along to the track accreditation on Sunday afternoons at 2pm?
-
• #1160
I'd love to. I've never ridden track before though. I'm working during the day tomorrow but maybe next week? Do I need to do anything in advance or can I just turn up?
-
• #1161
Nah, just turn up 15 mins before 2 to sort out a hire bike (if you need one) and sign on and you're good to go.

Awesome! How much is it?

+1 on the great chat with these guys. I've heard about them before and a few weeks back and thought I would pop in to see them as they do old steel second hand bicycles. I was after a 531 frame for a project for slades, although no luck they were extremely helpful and friendly towards someone who just walked in. Between them and Xchurch cycle xperience they generally take up the minority of tough work that I cant do in house.
- I should probably take this opportunity to say Hi, between Bournemouth & Bath (university) you may see me around either on a fixed racing green coventry eagle or a grey triumph. Your more then welcome to say Hi. Would be nice to meet up with a few people before I head back to uni at the end of september!

TomGold, I think I've seen a photo of your Coventry Eagle on here but I could be wrong. If its the one I think it is it's nice! Any photos?

Sure ill cross link from when I posted it ages ago in the projects thread.
I got some of my triumph somewhere built up. Ill be happy to post my project on slades here too. A lovely guy Tony Greening from wimborne is helping me with it. A really nice guy should you need any frame building or fixtures done he is your man.

I'm going to be organising a ride for Halloween. Most likely on Wednesday the 30th (the day before Halloween). It'll be after dark through the New Forest, probably to Southampton but along the same route as the railway so any less fit riders can hop on a train home when they get tired. Will be very informal and should be a laugh! Scary/spooky face paint or costume will be mandatory! PM me if you fancy it and I'll keep you up to date as it takes shape.
Cycle speedway is odd
