Silver SS with blue tape coming down Richmond Hill today?
Might be an idea to fit a rear brake...

^^who are you? I'm Loz, the guy on the all black Mielec with the rear gumwall tyre. Also, if anybody wants to start coming on more regular rides, I've set up a Facebook page with a really stupid name to try and organise that sort of thing. https://m.facebook.com/baptmbgc?ref=m_notif¬if_t=feed_comment&m_sess&viewtype=public&__user=1617870116
Like the page and I'll update it whenever a group of us are going out and where to etc. I was also thinking it'd be a good place to post any tools or particular skills you may have to help people look after their bikes and stuff.

^^look up Fiets Cyclery and Bournemouth and Poole Thrash Metal Bike Guys Club on Facebook, both sorting out super informal rides. Also, I just started working at Wheelie Great Bike Store in Lansdowne which is probably the worst named shop in existence and sells pretty much exclusively creates..... I'm hoping to make it more of a hub for the fixed gear community in Bournemouth and a good place to find people to ride with and stuff. I know it's last minute but me and a couple of others are riding to Southampton tomorrow if you're keen? I'll send you a PM anyway.

Not sure if this could be of use to anyone, I'm interested in a few bits from here but wouldn't be up for buying the whole lot (bit overpriced I feel) but if anyone else fancies buying this and then selling me the parts I need let me know

Bournemouth folk, I'm currently working on a piece of work documenting the heritage and cult like following of Reynolds tubing. I have recently been to the Reynolds factory in Birmingham but this is just the start, I need photos of bikes made with Reynolds in their respective environments. Does anyone from Bournemouth have a track bike made of Reynolds tubing that is track ready so to speak? By track ready I mean fixed, drops and no brakes. Ideally I'm looking to get some photos of the bike at the velodrome, a portrait of the owner and a couple of it being ridden on the banking. Any help would be massively appreciated.

Saw a few riders waiting at the lights in Boscombe/Pokesdown yesterday morning (nice day for a ride). Spotted a Brooklyn jersey. Anyone on here?
-
• #1193
Chirs, it might be worth joining the 'Bournemouth Cycling Centre' Facbook group and asking there.
I'm sure a few guys on there use steel for racing. -
• #1194
Will do, thanks Pifko

Sounds like it will have been mikeydavies in the Brooklyn Jersey! Like this page to see when they're going riding https://m.facebook.com/baptmbgc?ref=m_notif¬if_t=feed_comment&m_sess&viewtype=public&__user=1617870116
I'm in Leeds now so no more rides through the new forest for me!

• #1196
Is there enough of us Bournemouth folk to start a local version of bicycle tag of a bike?
-
• #1197
Dont know. Id be up for it as im on 2 wheels every day between jobs.
Actually right now would be up for meeting some new folk as summer starts.like riding / running with people 20 years younger than me - keeps you fresh
But more than that- beers after riding, goat and tricycle has a great bike friendly space and its the best pub in town,
When we were doing polo and all that 5 years ago used to meet at postcards for beer, goat and tricycle is new preferred venue.
Doing new forest 40 tommorrow meet at parley cross 10am, fixed or geared, coffee stop half way, if its vile forget it.
Anyone in? Pifko bout time you got some miles in again if you're gonna do isle of wight number 6- come on -
• #1198
OK, well if a couple more of us express interest I'll start up a thread, could be fun.
I would certainly be up for some social rides and beers, the G+T is indeed the best pub in town, not that it has a lot of competition. But some Sunday lunch rides to the outskirts would be nice too.
I didn't fancy a ride today given the forecast, but definitely keen to get involved in a more active Bournemouth contingent.

I can put you in touch with a couple I know down that way too if you'd like (j & 6pt), pretty rapid riders, she's training for P-R sportive at the moment. Nice too, obv.
That bicycle Jason has is much nicer in the flesh I can tell you all now for people that is interested, if I hadn't taken too much projects on of my own and be entering my final year of uni I would of seriously considered it.
Gutted I missed a ride and its too late for another one until im back as im heading back to Bath tomorrow. I may be interested in the halloween run sounds like good fun Ill keep you posted mate.
