  • Started with this "Older" Dolan Pre Cursa track frame yesterday:

  • What's the plan?

    1. Get a half decent chain.

    2. Get the forks drilled, if that's not possible; sell and buy a pair of driled carbon forks.

    3. Buy some stickers to hide the small blemishes to the top tube. :(

Also my brother and I noticed the top tube isn't dead straight; it has a slight incline to it.

  • Not really any excuse for not slamming the stem there.

  • Might have a bit more thread to allow for bulky fork ends. Don't think trimming them will be a problem.

That makes a lot of sense, cheers.

  • Tune DC 16/17 ? You need to be really careful cutting them down to ensure the threaded side is fully on the thread and not half on the thread, half on the reduced centre section of the skewer .. If they are DC 16/17 I'd take them back and get the correct road DC 14. It's the same design only with the correct length skewers

compact geo? also, bro, do you even scoblebrick™?

  • please don't drill the forks

    kmc 510hx

  • That would certainly be half decent

  • Boner ubintestered.

  • it is plastidipped vigorelli

  • ugh: those Qoroz bikes... so ugly.

  • But yes.

They look dated, the builds, photography and website don't help. They're not too bad in the flesh and can be made to go pretty well. They're good at sponsoring youth talent which makes me want them to do well.

  • This celeste number turned up on the bay and I got a bit trigger happen with a BIN.

This looks huge - I don't remember you being that tall when we met.

Why not just touch up the chips instead of stickering them?

  • I've dropped a few chains and had to race solely in the big ring a few times, thanks to a cheap campag front derailleur that never did quite what I demanded of it under load.
So having not been able to shifter properly and then dropping a chain at the bottom of a climb thanks to a broken limit screw and not been able to bridge back, so race over, on monday. I had enough.

Bastardised campag now. But it works FLAWLESSLY under load and changes when I demand.

  • campag and shimano together. Filth.

  • Function>Form.

Yeah I got 2 sizes bigger than what I would normally go for because I'm intending this bike to be a permanent bike for atleast a year and since 15 year olds (teenagers in general) have a tendency to shoot up I thought it would be smarter to have a bigger frame. I'm now 5'11 and this frame is a 57sq. I've changed my mind on the sticker front, I think it would now devalue the frame itself and it would seriously ruin the beauty of the frame. I'm thinking of asking my local auto body shop about a touch up.

  • Function>Form.

If this is the case - why were you using campag in the first place? :)

  • ^^ just use nail varnish

Free. What I was given on the bike. ;)
