At the end of the day it all comes down to personal preference
I think that's about it really.

I took delivery of my Roadlite 7.0 yesterday. Very impressed at the stiffness and lightness of it (under 9kg with pedals and cages and a heavy-ish saddle). Sizing seems to fit well too.
I'll probably share some more thoughts after I've had a chance to ride it a bit more.

At the end of the day it all comes down to personal preference and which particular line of marketing guff you choose to breathe in. Contact points and tyre / wheel choice are likely to make more discernable difference to most of us.
25mm rear tyre. Job done.

Any owners of the fat tyre variety of canyon in here?
Don't flame me!!

^ lots of ultimate ALs on the forum for you to try .. I** think T-V might have one in your size.** Although the force model is not on discount atm; i'd wait till their proper sale starts.
Also; Y U NO spend £300 more for Di2?
Haha - I think TV rides a 62cm frame (certainly XL)
Dan has a Canyon that might fit XH.

Hi there, sorry if this has been addressed above (I did check, albeit sketchily!), but wondered if anyone had any specific experience with the Canyon Roadlite 6.0:

I'm thinking about investing! -

New roadlite AL is released, I dont see a world of difference ...

Aside from the paint job, the biggest change are ultegra is now 6800 11speed and they using their own seatpost instead of ritchey
-
• #237
the 6800 crank is the biggest improvement, the g'set actually looks aight now

This is definitely a great set up for a winter training bike! =)

I convinced two of my colleagues to buy a canyon (roadlite and 29er) they placed the orders yesterday, where is my haribo canyon?
-
• #240
I switched to Ultegra and slammed the stem with the after market headset cap. Bike feels good.
-
• #241
^ Which headset cap ?
-
• #242
Sorry meant headset bearing cover. The 4.5mm one you can get.
-
• #243
I've got an ex silence -lotto Ultimate AL frame with an Ultegra build and Hope SS bottom bracket.
The BB is stiffer than a priest in the choir boys shower. Excellent VFM

In latest guise. 28mm tyres came in use during 30km on canal towpath. It is an ugly gate, but a good ride.

Just ordered an Ultimate AL with SRAM Force.
It's my first road bike and so consequently I'm gonna spend the next 2 weeks trying not to do a tiny wee every time I think about it.

Looking good, looks like you could go down a size by the saddle and -17deg stem though...

so whats with that disc braked roadie then? for when was it announced?
-
• #249
Name on the tube looks to be INFLITE AL and the cable setup looks like a cycle cross bike... new market for Canyon. I think it'll be announced tomorrow...

haha I am confusing sometimes
I meant this one - http://www.bikerumor.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/2013-Canyon-Ultimate-CF-SLX-Disc-brake-road-bike01.jpg
That's sort of nonsense. I see what you're angling at, but it's possible to get a supersix with apex for under 1300, or a tcr advanced with 105 for around 1600. Both of those frames are outrageously good and have tonnes of race proven r&d thrown into them.
On the other hand Phil Gilbert raced on the ultimate al when he was riding for Lotto, out of preference...but then pros just want everything as stiff as possible. Doesn't really relate to your average sportive cyclist.
