Their claims seem a little far-fetched, one application per day?
Personally, I don't like to leave the house before dark anyway. -

I'm rather fair-skinned and P20 does the job for me. Did a few day-long rides in Ibiza last year, caked in P20 and wearing a regular Giro helmet and felt pretty comfy.

My concern is the UVA rays that don't burn you, but over the long term do cellular damage.

Just cycled around Europe for the last 3 weeks with factor 30 p20 no problems whatsoever.

has anyone any selfmade pics of the bikepack repack x1 mounted?
i'm bored of all the bags for the back and want to have one on my orlwoski. should collect small stuff, a lock and a pair of sneakers size 13. -

^^ ok, I give up

Just a heads up on P20, make sure you follow the instructions.
The first time I used it was snowboarding and I just applied what I'd consider a regular amount, got a bit red and thought this stuff is marketing BS. You need to properly smother yourself and let it dry.
Haven't had any problems since following the instructions.

sounds like a good hat would be easier

^ Maybe, not for me personally. But the point was he couldn't find a hat that worked. P20 is available in all high st chemists. A tennis visor thing is another option.

i'm bored of all the bags for the back and want to have one on my orlwoski. should collect small stuff, a lock and a pair of sneakers size 13.I've got a small Kriega saddle bag for my motorbike. I seem to remember it being around the £30 mark, but that may be mis-remembered. It's increadably tough and well made and would hold the sort of kit you're after. Mine usually held; shirt, lunch, lock, bike cover.
EDIT: This one I think (so probably more like £40-50)
There are plenty of hoops and strapy bits so I think you could easily convert one. Plus I would hazard a guess that they, and similar products, will be cheaper and possibly more durable than any bike packing stuff jus because of the increased market size and economies of scale.
Best thing is to go to a motorbike shop and have a look at them.

hats.
face caught the sun big time yesterday. cap wasn't enough of a shield for me, and they don't really breath. got a week on the bike in France to come this month so want a solution.anyone every toured with a safari style (no idea the proper name) hat?
Get one from Decaulton, make sure it got a loops to hold it in place, highly recommended as it's more effective than sun block.

i've not used p20 before but have "sports" sun cream and it sweats out of me. will give it a go though; thanks to those that recommend.
cheers. i've fallen in love with decathlon (surrey quays). makes me so happy to go there and see people trying to be active!
this hat looks perfect but not in stock...also, these bottle cage holders are great and back in stock

I live in the tropics, have fair skin and burn like a mofo. P20 all good but beware white tee shirts n shorts. It'll turnn them yellow like pee.
There's an Aussie one called sun sense, can get on line, awesome stuff. Once a day and with that fucking great ozone hole above their country you can bet they know what they're doing. -

Looking to start accumulating parts and equipment for a bike tour next year so if anyones got any old gear which they no longer need or use hit me up - interested in near anything. Let me know!
Great thread, lots of useful advice! Cheers!

Cheers, figured since needed near everything could get away with not doing so.
What I'm looking for if anyone's got spared / unused kit;
-Decent racks, front and rear, Tubus or something similar with good max load capacity.
-Good quality front and rear panniers, bar bag. Maybe also rack top bag / saddlebag.
-2 Man tent, something around size, spec and price range of the MSR Hubba Hubba, pitch in one or flysheet first, having a large enough porch to cook in would be ideal, around the 2kg mark.
-Reliable stove with possibility for use of multiple fuels eg Trangia 27 or MSR Whisperlite international.
-Exped Downmat sleeping mat or similar inflatable mat.
-Touring bike (parts/complete), something along the lines of a Surly Long Haul Trucker or maybe even MTB tourer. Not fussed about spec, happy to upgrade parts. Price range is around £600Thats it for starters, am sure there is plenty of various camping / biking equipment that I've left out so hit me up with any bits and bobs you have which are unneeded or no longer in use. Cheers.

Hi Jonty,
LHTs come up on here from time to time - what size you after?
As for a tent, I'd NEVER cook in the porch of a two-man tent.Just something drilled into me as a scout :)

Yeah seen the odd few, will keep a look out.
Generally neigher would I but on the odd horrible day can be needed, just have to be v. careful!

I'm also on the look out for a Tubus rear rack if anyone has one, or spots something.

Reckon I could shorten the hitch to axle length on the trailer frame without affecting the handling?
-
• #1798
If anyone's after a 55cm touring frame, this is an excellent deal http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=267590&sid=8b6894a1426930028a61e81d3e2f7c48
(not mine/anything to do with me, just seemed too good a bargain not to post).
I've got the same frame and despite it not looking too great in the photos, it is a really nice one and at that price a respray would be very affordable. Very suitable for a long tour (or hauling stuff round London which is all mine currently gets used for). -

Does anyone have any good recommendations for a pump for taking on trips?
Something light, but good for high pressures? -
• #1800
Topeak Micro Rocket has served me well. 18 quid or thereabouts.
Would P20 sun block not be simpler?
