  • There's a distributor of revelate stuff based up in Scotland. Just got a whole bunch of stuff in. Don't think there's a wait on Wildcat saddle bags either.

  • There are a few bivvi bag/ tarp combinations out there. Some are like mini tents, with just enough room for you in a sleeping bag. They keep the insects out and rain off and dont weigh much. Try companies like Rab or Terra Nova for some lightweight camping kit.

Or get a tent. Square peg, round hole came to mind to be honest. From experience I'd say tarp and bivvi is an over-complicated version of a tent. But each to their own.

  • Does anyone know which size bikepack.eu saddle bag is in this photo?

  • cheers dude.

    ?

wildcat's saddle bag is too small by the looks of it.

  • The 14L of the Revelate bag is massive, I stuffed a sleeping bag, tent (w/o poles), inflatable mattress, clothes and toiletries in it which just about big enough for them all.

  • I'll be putting a listing up for my 14l BRP bag shortly if you're interested. Drop me a pm

  • ^actually it's 13L

Yes. Don't wildcat do two sizes?

  • And doesn't wildcat have a separated drybag?

  • yea, still relatively small though:
"Available in two sizes for 3 to 5 litre or 5 to 8 litre dry bags"

  • 8L + you can strap a jacket or something on the top, seems a reasonable capacity, what do you need to fit in it?

  • An option is speed touring (not even touring really) fixed on my Ridley Oval, so would have no mounts. Camping the whole way so:
hammock, tarp, sleeping bag, clothes - volume (saddle)
tools, toiletries, electrics - weight (frame)

  • Otherwise known as an audax.

  • Currently in the alpes with some cols in my legs. Carbon Planet X and carbon wheels are doing a great job, so is the rucksack strapped under my saddle. Shaver weighs less than 3 toothbrushes but i cut it in half to save space. pliers are tiny and light aswell... All i gotta say that this trip ia great and the TN Laser tent is amazinf even in extreme alp storms, micro towels are the bb and my first son I will call Merino.

  • nice!

  • and my first son I will call Merino.

Won't that make him sheepish at school

    Have fun

I wore a pair of these for a long, mountainous tour and they were ace!

I've actually also got a pair for sale - unused, boxed, 46 if anyones interested at £40?

  • They're just so fucking ugly (not only yours).
Will be spending 8-10 hours a day cycling for a week plus - would they be better or worse than standard shoes? I can think of reasons either way.

  • Must say, I found them really comfortable....I was fully loaded, so not looking for speed....I even managed quite a few rather large lumpy bits with them!

  • ? You shagged fat birds?

  • hats.
face caught the sun big time yesterday. cap wasn't enough of a shield for me, and they don't really breath. got a week on the bike in France to come this month so want a solution.

anyone every toured with a safari style (no idea the proper name) hat?

  • Tilley makes some enviably ugly but effective ones that you can tie on.

  • looks alright

    looks awful
