number ported over this morning and I am getting on really well with my htc one now. spent the weekend learning the ins and outs of the OS and have already managed to ditch sense and have installed apex launcher instead and themed it so everything looks decent. also began playing about with llama for location aware profile switching so it automatically turns 4g/3g/wifi on off as I move from home to work etc.
oyster master+ also has a pretty cool widget for displaying your oyster balance which is handy, it also supports nfc so you can tap your oyster on the phone and it'll open the app up to show you your balance, journey history etc.
next up is to start digging into tasker/nfc task launcher and come up with some decent uses for nfc stickers etc. quite like the idea of having a sticker on the bike under the top tube or something i can tap the phone onto and send a text to the gf saying where I am and that i'm on my way home. maybe another one to say i'm off to the pub dont wait up as well. and of course one by the bed to set the alarm for the morning. #lazy

What else have you got that likely wants to know your location? I don't use Hangouts - does it need location info? Does it sync current contacts online or some bollocks? Downgrade to chat and see if there's a difference?
Location services is off, proper. I'll see how it fairs over the next 24 hr. it could just be the battery, in which case ill get the higher capacity one.

Hi all, just a quick question for the nexus 4 / nexus 5. I had my nexus 4 for all of 18 hours before I lost / got pickpocketed. Any ideas on if I should wait it out for the nexus 5 or just go with another nexus 4? Any ETA / worth waiting rumours etc? Tried having a search about but so many different ideas.

Likely late this year. October according to most.
Or not at all according to this: http://www.stuff.tv/android/google-nexus-5-actually-its-way-don-t-be-so-sure/news

Woot! My new N7 32Gb turned up today. I really do like the new form factor, feels like a slightly large Kindle. It's definitely lighter (and feels it too). Now, what to do with the old N7 ?

Mount the old one in a kitchen cupboard and use it to display recipes and stuff.

That's a good idea. Worth $100 on eBay though so might just sell it.
Forum looks good on new screen. No need to zoom to read really.

So, I've always used Google Reader for RSS... what can I use that works easily on PC/Android/IOS and keeps everything in sync ?
I've got feedly, TapTu, Pulse installed, are those the best ? I use commafeed.com atm as it's a Reader clone but it's not that pretty on phone/tablet.

I'm using the gReader android app with my new Feedly account as it deals with podcasts better than Feedly's own app which treats them like videos and stops playing if it loses focus or the screen locks. It also infuriatingly loses its place. Haven't paid for reader so can't download them for later listening but it steams fine.

Guess I just need to get used to Feedly it seems

How to force the update for all Nexus devices

I'd tried ^ on previous updates but I don't think I'd tried it repeatedly, so it never worked. Just tried on my N4 and after 3 attempts it's downloading the updated :)
