  • Got refund already - they were very quick to issue a refund despite ignoring my e-mails.

    Fuck them.

  • I'm still waiting for the remainder of my refund, over five weeks since I placed my order.

    I originally ordered, but they didn't tell me the item was out of stock. Then they sent me a different item which I hadn't ordered, so I phoned them, and the guy told me I needed to send the item back (no apologies). I agreed to take it to the Post Office on my lunch break and paid £3.65 for recorded postage. They agreed over the phone to pay me this back (the least they could do!).

    I then waited again, and again until they just never got the actual item in stock, and then said I wanted my money back. No aplogies, and they never issued a refund!

    Eventually, after several emails, they have issued part of my refund for the original item price, but still owe me £3.65.

    Never again.

  • Biggest piece of shit ever, false hope for stock they don't actually have. Order things, pay postage, call them a week later to find out they are just waiting on a part that will probably never arrive.

  • Do not use shinybikes.com! I wish I had seen this thread before I placed an order with them.

    They sent me the wrong crankset with a groupset I ordered, they asked me to return it to them on the promise of immediate replacement and refund of postage costs.

    I later find out that they never actually had the item in stock and so just sent something similar. (As is the experience of others mentioned elsewhere in this thread.)

    Anyway, I returned the incorrect crankset, tracked, and they received it the next morning. Over the next week or so I have to make numerous calls chasing them on my replacement, each time I was outright lied to with a "yeah, it's going out today". I wait and wait and nothing turns up.

    Several weeks later and after frequent chasing, they actually get stock of the item they sold me in the first place and send me the replacement.

    I'm still waiting to be refunded on the postage costs I incurred returning their mistake, but they've now stopped answering my calls and will not return any of my emails.

    Oh, I also made the initial purchase over the phone and was told a total price for the order, I gave them my card details and then saw on the invoice that they added an additional £5 for postage costs without telling me.

    Stay clear of these unprofessional, lying scumbags.

  • I thought I'd posted about this in another Shitty Bikes thread, maybe not.

    Anyway, they did exactly the same to me, sent me blatantly the wrong crankset, refunded but never refunded my postage despite me sending a follow up email with the postage receipt attached. £7 or £8 down the drain. Plus they are legally obliged to pay postage costs if it is their 'mistake'.

    Fuck 'em.

  • I ordered a seat post from Shiny, and low and behold they sent the wrong one. It appears they too didn't have the right one in stock, although they did send one similar.

    After a number of emails and filling out their contact us form, they hadn't responded after a month, so I filed a Paypal dispute.

    Paypal refunded the money within a week and I still have the seat post after a month. I've even contacted them to see where I send it and still no response.

    Moral of the story, if you're going to order. Use Paypal, and file a dispute if it doesn't work out.
