That's not quite what happens though, is it? If dietary fat is not "processed", you just crap it out.
Orlistat, for example, prevents the processing of dietary fats. And makes you shit grease.
My body is storing fat, so I guess it is processing it somewhere. It has never worked efficiently since the gall bladder op.
Would never touch Orlistat or other things. A friend who took it had problems for ages afterwards.

Did (s)he have to wear a nappy 24/7?
-
• #6204
Back on the diet today, I've been gorging myself on misery foods since my accident last weekend and now I feel fat* as well as miserable. I am still banned from cycling and running but am going to investigate what exercise I can do. Bleurgh.
*Not quite fat enough to consider wearing a nappy.

Back on it today too, a week in Spain fucked my up proper, but you just can't not not eat when it's just there can you? Right in front of you, looking into your eyes and saying 'EAT ME' (in Spanish)

^^ Neurapraxia – crashed my bike and fucked (technical term) my ulnar nerve, can’t move my hand properly yet and am wearing a splint.

Is it painful or just not working? Why no running?
I suppose it would be dangerous to run down hills without swing your arms about and shouting weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
-
• #6209
Not so much painful as not working.
The doctors said no running at first to properly rest the nerve, which I guess still stands. Last year when I broke my elbow I discovered that running with one arm makes you run in circles, so I'm not mad keen to do that again. Fuck, literally all I want to do is ride my bike. I dream about it every night :(

Would you like to borrow a turbo?
-
• #6211
I lost 4kg yesterday and that's with taking on 6L of fluids.
2L Pepsi last night went some way to putting that right. -
• #6212
That must have taken a lot of clearing up.

There's a few bottles to wash.

I would, actually. Could you deliver it? I can't drive at the moment.

PM me your address and I'll drop it over tonight.

82.1 this morning. 0.1 down on the end of last week. hmmm.
Still it's progress, going well. I've fell of the wagon a couple (few) times but write that off and start again the next day.
Distinct lack of booze in my diet this week too - only had a whisky last night when getting a little annoyed on the computer.
Protein shakes have arrived. Even though I'm running at a calorie deficit should I be taking these in place of a meal? For example having one instead of breakfast - or go out for a run, lift some weights then take one before dinner?
You could try mixing a shake with some oats in the morning, suppose it depends on what flavour you went for. I've occasionally been having a shake for breakfast but that was for convenience. Then I usually have one later at night. If you are going to have shakes, factor them into your calorie intake for the day, and I'd say you should really have them even on rest days as it's overall intake over a 24 hr period which matters.

I went for unflavoured figured I could mix with anything that way.
I'll make sure I add it in to my daily count. May perhaps start having a shake for brekkie rather than cereal.

Don't know if I could bear unflavoured. Yuk. Although I am currently ploughing my way through some 'cinnamon apple swirl' which is giving me the boke with its artificial flavour and sweetness. Only stuff I can really stomach are the various chocolate flavours. Although I've just ordered some coffee flavour, which I may live to regret.
I've found that I have been getting good results (in the gym) after shifting my diet to a much higher protein content, restricting carbs to post exercise, and then adding in regular shakes so I'm aiming for about 160g of protein a day. Mainly aiming to maintain strength while cutting that last bit of belly fat/beer belly and not bothered about actual weight loss per se - if I gain muscle mass and weight I'll be happy.
I have actually been increasing my lifts while being calorie restrictive by making sure I didn't just drop carbs.

It's all disgusting, regardless. I put more water in them than you're supposed to so it doesn't taste of Vile quite so strongly, then chuck the lot down the hatch like paracetamol. Like swallowing paracetamol, it's just one of these things you need to accept in Zen fashion :(

Bothwell hit the nail on the head - stick loads of water in (surely more water has no effect) then just chug it down.
Now try doing that in summer when you've just come in from a run.

Great ideas.
Still tempted to join the gym - when I'm not sure and I don't really like spending money all that much, which is why I'd like to do more stuff at home.
I'll count the calories from protein shakes in my daily in take. May forgo the cereal in the morning then start on the shakes. But try to have another when I get in from a run.

Milk makes them taste far better but then you poor little fatties have to count the milk calories too.

I do the opposite and put in much less water so it's over quicker.
