  • Good news. And good to know for future hard drive borks.

  • Anyone know how to make a magic track-pad select browser drop-down list forms?

At the moment I have to use the keyboard after selecting them with my trackpad and its annoying.

If you use a trackpad you will probably know what im talking about.
If you don't you'll have no clue.

  • I'm in the second camp, I have no clue.

  • It did fucking work!
CCC just did it, ignoring all 'permissions' and screwed bits or whatever, simply cloned it.
The drive(s) as a whole though, did take some time (bit over 1GB/min).

Now data is avaiable on a fresh partition of a new external drive.

    I am happy.

You could've just used the bless command from terminal on your g5 drives. Simples.

Browser drop down list forms? Enlighten me. I will try to help.

You can use keyboard commands using Shortcat

  • an HTML form.. one of these
    http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tryit.asp?filename=tryhtml_select

you can't select them with your trackpad.

  • Can anybody recommend a good-quality replacement battery for an iPod 40GB 3rd-Generation (2003-ish). I don't use eBay, so preferably Amazon or summat.
    iPod looks like this.

  • i got one from maplins before.

  • Don't have Maplins here, I'm in the US. I might try Radio Shack, but was wondering if there was a specific aftermarket brand I should be looking for.

  • iPod off ebay

  • Change the hdd while you're at it

  • You could've just used the bless command

I have no idea what you're talking about, but thanks.

  • Sounds charming, whatever it does.

  • I have done this... But only to listen to new booty after diggin thru crates of 45s...

  • so, the top about 1 1/2 inch of the display on my old macbook pro has been crushed.
I can't afford new or repair and the rest is still working so for the time beeing I think I'll cover the bad part with a bit of tape.
is there a way to move the menu bar so it'll be visible? or change the resolution/screen size or something so only the working part will be used?

  • You could attach a second monitor if you have one handy, then you can set which one the menu bar appears on via System Prefs. Other than that, I don't think it's possible.

  • great, closer to windows phone

  • I've rigged my old Mac Pro up to wifi using a Realtek wifi dongle (no airport card so I used what I had)

It's connecting fine (browsing, email) but Dropbox and spotify can't find the connection.

Any ideas? It feels like a port is blocked but I've no idea how to progress..

    Thanks for any suggestions

EDIT - Think i've sorted it (firewall on the router)
