who works there apart from maddy?
Tenners, a fixed newb and a bald mechanic with a beard who's name I can't remember.

^^ fair enough, i'll get a 16 and a 19t cog (16 for tomorrow, 14 for hardcore tarck 19 for commuting #SpinToWin to and from) I used to ride 48X16 around town (with a 6 mile commute from green lanes to oxford st everyday) which I felt was pretty ok, but that was with a brake. Cant remember what they gave me for induction but couldnt have been bigger than 48X15; the bike was utter shoit.

I'll also try and avoid Miche lockring.
You can't, it's French threaded.
Just be careful with them is all, they still work exactly as intended.

No it isn't, it's Italian. Campag or Phil fits. Lockring is largely decorative on a track bike anyway, the Miche one will be fine.

My dad has an upright dyson hoover but wants something lighter as it is too heavy for him to get up and down stairs.
Any suggestions for a vacuum cleaner that works well and is not too heavy?

Which? shows most of the Miele range between 6-8kg as Best Buys - all are north of £200 though.
PM if you want model numbers, etc..

I'm cycling to Brussels on Weds.
Does anyone have a recommendation for cycle insurance (theft etc) and health insurance for a 1week cycle trip? -

Is it just me or is planet X's site fucked?

I got some socks and a cardigan earlier, and some 50p back up lights, I'm sure it's cheaper than buying new batteries.

If he has space to store them, maybe have a separate machine upstairs? Dysons are in a class of their own really,
Id get a dyson compact as the second machine, probably better for doing stairs and car etc too.
Oh and Amey, 48x14 is way too big a gear ratio for basics.
I did it on 48.16 and 48/17 and was completely fine.
