I'm cycling to Brussels on Weds.
Does anyone have a recommendation for cycle insurance (theft etc) and health insurance for a 1week cycle trip?Planning ahead?
Thank you.
I doesn't take more then mins to sort insurance so, please don't fret, my forward planning is just dandy.
I merely asked if anyone had a preferred supplier. -

If he has space to store them, maybe have a separate machine upstairs? Dysons are in a class of their own really,
Id get a dyson compact as the second machine, probably better for doing stairs and car etc too.
We've got a Dyson, £300 or so of shiny grey plastic.
It's shit.
We now exclusively use the £13 vacuum cleaner I got from Argos, which is 500% better than the Dyson.

Numatic henry ftw (not great for stairs tho tbh)

^^ Low on suction? When our got like that we took it apart and cleaned it out.
IMO they're better than most, spares easily available

Yeah, Dammit, clean your filters. It should practically suck the carpet off the floor.
-
• #45807
Still running an old DC05, brick and sawdust will really clog it up.

Ours has practically no suck. I will get it out of its exile and clean the filters again, but honestly the change to the Argos "round of drinks" priced machine was astonishing- clean floors!

The insides are most probably clogged up. I wouldn't be surprised if you have the long torx screwdrivers needed to take it apart.
Personally I prefer something that I can service every now and then than something I can afford to throw away

Can someone tell me what to do please...
I just can't decide if I should get clipless pedals on my bike build or put rat traps on it.
I don't really like rat traps. And my impression of a track stand is laughable.
But, my ride to work is less than 5 miles. And I'll rarely be doing anything longer than 10-15miles. So not sure if it's worth getting clipless.
(Theoretically, it'd be correct to put clipless on my merckx)

flats with clipless integrated?
-
• #45812
or get casual spd shoes if you're only doing short hops.
clipless > cages imo though.
-
• #45813
Don't wanna fudge up my build (any more than I have) by sticking any old pedals on it I guess.
I'd be loathe to put spuds on my bike, just 'cos it has mainly campagnolo bits on it now. So if i went for clipless I'd likely be looking at Looks or Campagnolo. Or something that at least looked correct ;)
Hmm.

Put the best pedals for purpose on it (i.e. SPDs with some sort of platform so you can ride in normal shoes if necessary, e.g. PD-A520, PD-M785) and change them to Record ProFit for photo shoots and concourses d'elegance

I'd be loath to...
or
I'd loathe to... -

I'd be loath to...
or
I'd loathe to...I'm loath to say you're correct. Maybe on both counts.

Hmmmmm.....
Dyson + diy ..........Mindset: 'this'll pick up all that cr4p'
sometime later
'This Dyson is cr4p'Wife complains 'you broke the Dyson'
Check filters, no better,
dis-assemble all bits I can get to, no better,
check flexible pipe, can't see down/along it.
Some squeezing/poking with broomhandle later,
the blockage emerges:- super Dyson-suction packed diy debris.Personal experience.
Dyson now accompanied into diy mayhem with Poundshop dustpan'n'brush. -

Similarly I had a dyson that got clogged up with a combination of DIY crap and dog hair.
Everything from brush to cyclones came apart got a clean and it was awesome again.
Csb. This was about ten years ago, and my then girlfriend kept it.

still safe to ride, right?
Shove the circlip back into the groove and it will be as safe as it was before, i.e. a death-trap.

What are the limits to the power of gravity?
The natural phenomenon by which physical bodies attract each other with a force proportional to their masses that causes apples to fall from trees..
Are all masses within the universe attracted to each other to some degree regardless of their distance from one another?
Or is the power of gravity weakened by relative distance?
Get a tiny stairlift for the hoover.
