Laner, out of curiosity, why do you want to ride into cities?

Day 2: St Malo to Orne .http://ridewithgps.com/routes/2423544
Regarding this, there's an awesome beach/campsite south east of Alencon, called Sille Plage, it got a great campsite with high tech toliet that's a rarity and a nice evening cafe 40 second ride away where you can sit and look at the sunset going down the beach.
This campsite is the one I've used.

Does anyone in London have a roadbike for hire? Something in the 52cm range for a short tour at the end of June. Ideally steel, simple, in good mechanical condition. Can leave a deposit and I'll be doing very gentle riding with limited gear (B&B touring). I only weight 130 lbs.

Probably more economically viable to buy one and then sell it on if you don't want it when you've finished, if you guy used you're unlikely to lose much money when you come to sell it.

Dude I just reply to you, stop spamming.

Yeah, I'm just not sure I have the time to buy and sell a bike while in town. Hopefully someone out there has an extra one sitting around collecting dust.

Dude, this is not spamming. It's a guy from California trying to borrow a bike while in London.
Not so cool of you to jump the gun like this... how many people do you think post ads trying to borrow bikes and offer downpayments in an effort to spam, scam, rip-off, or whatever.
If I were you I'd click the 'Log Out' button at top right and take a nice long ride.

You can always ask in one of the topic where your comment get more attention, the asked any question topic for instance.

You've been Scobled. It's the closest this forum comes to an equatorial baptism. Enjoy the fact that you have just been made a beneficiary of this time-honoured tradition and move on. :)

An equatorial baptism? Feels more xenophobia festering in what might otherwise be a fine online forum. Two posts about borrowing a bike and within minutes I'm called a scammer. An interesting tradition that reminds me of witch burning.

Does anyone in London have a roadbike for hire? Something you would be willing to rent to a foreigner of this forum, a witch of sorts, a scooble proclaimed scammer with a valid passport and a deposit for the full value of your bike.

I am posting this question here because I cannot yet create a new post.
If I were looking to buy and sell a bike to meet my need then you would not be reading this.
And I am inquiring here because I cannot find a bike shop that rents honest steel bikes. If you know of one, I'd also like to. -

Uh huh... yeah, well I am just trying to let these people know that I am not a scammer. You make claims about someone and get upset when they are refuted?
Just trying to ride bikes. Thanks for your time and suggestions.

I didn't said scammer, I said spammer, a very big difference and like I said, stop taking it seriously.
You can always just purchase a second hand bicycle off this forum, if in doubt about the buyer, ask around, the locals will be happy to help, second hand bicycle would be beneficial as you can quite easily sell it on without making too much of a loss, says, £30 less than what you paid for originally, the other benefit is that you won't be under stress about looking after the bicycle, should an incident occured, it's the least of your worries.

Thanks for this. We're totally clear. I am definitely a spammer.
