Is there a full write-up of this adventure somewhere? I've caught glimpses in different threads but really intrigued by it - it looks incredible!

Thinking about doing a couple of days of fixed touring, because 'The Netherlands':

Big advantage of a front rack that attaches to the brake hole and loads all your stuff: you can pretty much turn every bike into a tourer.

Any tips on fixed touring? Obviously The Netherlands is very flat, so thinking of just sticking with my city ratio 52/20 (which roughly equals 47/18) with probably 11-14kg of luggage.

If it's flat you will put more weight onto your arse, so be prepared to keep that end happy.

I toured fixed in the Netherlands this spring. I can't think of anywhere better suited for it. No particular advice. I bikepacked covering around 80k a day at most and had no complaints.

Booking camp sites isn't necessary, they always have space for cyclists. We usually arrived after the camp office was closed and just sorted it out in the morning.

Navigating by google maps works really well for bike paths.

Cheers, some good tips. Similar to what I did in France. Reckon Google Maps for cycling paths will work a little bit better in The Netherlands than it did in France (though for the most part it worked out).

Maybe forgot to mention I'm based in The Netherlands, so it's all very familiar territory. Therefor I'm thinking of challenging myself by doing large distances, maybe try Groningen in one day and then in one day back (from The Hague). Should be fun.

I was planning a similar route for next spring Hoek van Holland to Copenhagen. Probably over 6 days.

I rode to Paris with a chrome messenger bag, unassisted. Was on 48/18 ratio. No brakes
London to Newhaven was by far the most grueling.
Travel light, travel fast. One thing I learnt was riding with none fixed touring bikes is difficult as going slow (to match thier speed) was much more draining than getting up to speed and letting the bike run.
