It took you two years to make a hybrid?
-
• #188
To choose parts, obviously. This is no hybrid, though. It is single in everything, purpose as well.

Here's my old 'Dale. I bought the frame & forks brand new in 1999.
It's a CAAD3 Martyn Ashton Trials Team Replica. Same geometry as the Beast Of The East.
Built up as a 1x9 street machine from day one.http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b216/190Evoluzione/Cannondale-11-970x646.jpg

Here it is in CX-race-pit-bike mode just before I stripped it to build my Pompino.

^^^^ interesting rotors. What are they? The static lefty... Hmmm not sure about that.
^ love the Volvo colors. The wishbone stay is awesomeness too.

Howard, rotors are fresh from Kettle Cycles, SiC ceramic. About the static lefty (must remember this!), I get stopped by many to tell me how wrong this fork is. Some even get quite angry at the sight of it. I find it fascinating. Hi-speed descents are a riot on this bike. It's very stable and very late braking is possible...

Hah - yes, I've read about other people thinking the bike is broken because of the single sided fork.
As an aesthetic only piece I do like the look of it, but as I understand it there's no real advantage to it and a couple of minor downsides (hub selection, wheel removal etc).
There's also a super-curious static-lefty headshok which strikes me as utterly bonkers...
Nice bike though, tidy.

Just ordered a Supersix Evo Red from work. Can't wait to rip some hills on it.

Awesome frame, I love the rear brake cable routing.

Yur, I'm thinking about switching the wheels out for Ksyrium SLRs pretty soonish, and it'll get a Thomson finishing kit on it as soon as it turns up. I need to get some road pedals and shoes too, but I don't have enough dollar so it's ATACS for a bit...

Bullshit they weigh 1255

No way they weigh that, no way they're better than SLRs
Have you fucking SEEN them?! Ksyrium SLRs are the meanest.

CX Ray spokes - 52 = 234g
NoTube Alpha 340 = 770g (pairs)
Strada hubs = 287g (pairs)add up to 1291g, not sure where the 36g gone, and I haven't included the nipple.
Unless the hubs is build up with Extralite Ultralite SLX that weight less than 190g for a pairs.
