MTB BB7.

I use a tektro lever (same as retroshift) with the road BB7 and it work really nicely. Don't understand why you'd want the MTB one?

Simply because that is the recommendation.

Also you can get 2X BB7+160mm G2CS rotors+all fixings for £50, BNIB.

Anyway, I'm hoping the Retroshift levers will give good results with (yet to be purchased) MTB BB7.

You really need to try my braking set-up.

Brakes and levers are on the way from, respectively, Hong Kong and Germany.

Let hope it's work (if the levers design are identical to the Cane Creek SCR-5 that is).

Must admire your dedication to avoid having bar end shifter thought.

The Retroshift are basically Tektro V-brake drop bar levers, I'm fairly confident that they'll work with the MTB BB7, and it they don't I'll flog them and get road BB7's.

The linear pull/V-brake version was/is only available as 2/3x10, I'm going to run them 1X10 though. Nothing stopping me from using a standard Tektro lever on the left I guess, or I could simply remove the thumbshifter and replace it with something that amuses me at the time.
