  • The Rum Porter was probably by Boggart brewery - it's superb.

  • Yes it was! Good sleuthing.

  • Anyway...

    #backontrack

    Recent wonders have included...

Nice, tastes of honey even though there is no honey in it...

I am getting more and more impressed by Tiny Rebel, consistantly good beers.

Now this was wierd. I'm quite happy to see a low percentage ale as a 'session' beer or for those who drive However this was very, very dry.

I wouldn't have it again but I don't drive when I drink, so not an issue.

Sweet, sweet, sweet... Probably the sweetest IPA I have tasted yet! (Sweet as in sugar, not sweet as in 'sweet dude...')

OMG. They are not kidding when they say chocolate and vanilla... It was ice cream in a pint!

It smell and tastes of it... It was so hard to say no to one more pint...

However I needed to try this:

Dry, lethal and full of cranberry goodness... At least thats what I told myself while drinking it!

  • Where was the C&V Stout?

    I need to try that.

  • The C&V stout was at The Evening Star in Brighton, I don't think it'll be around for long however... :-(

  • Had a delicious bottle of Bath Ales Gem last night, tasted amazing with some olives. Christ, what a ponce!

  • Had a few pints of outstanding beers pushing out last night had a couple on Tuesday night too, it's big at 7.4% but bloody tasty, kind of fruity with a decent bitter, hoppy aftertaste and a pretty good alcohol punch in the mouth, but not too much, actually goes down a bit too easy for it's strength, I'm a fan, although, less so this morning.

  • Gem is lovely.. are all Bath ales I've tried

I drank a few of those Cwtch last night... good beer that. No idea how to say it. They've got it on at the Black Heart in Camden atm

  • They had bath's golden hare on in my local last night actually, was very good.

  • Just drinking a Baltika.
    Russian lager.
    It's piss.

  • Bloody lovely stuff, I tell thee.

  • And this is absolutely fantastic!

  • Had to get this just for the tap...

  • That is amazing.

  • Crown and Anchor, Euston. Lunch. Today. #win

  • Little far for me, although the brewery is about 4 miles from my house.

  • A new Marble Brewery Black IPA, dangerous but lovely!

And this from Okell's, I've seen this in a couple of other pubs too recently. A new thing?

Yep, A new thing. The Jiarg and Olaf are both really nice pints.

  • And this is absolutely fantastic!

    My local brewer.

Their Twisted Spire is exceptional too. Hopefully they'll get nationally known, as they deserve a wider appreciation.

  • aha, know clibber well

they tend a good pint of hobsons in the fountain, and also the cocks at stoddeston

Ah yes.......The Fighting Cocks at Stotteston. Nice village to live. Always a few decent beers on offer. My old mate Jem, the cycling artist, is usually in there, I believe.

  • Hoptimus Prime !!!! Might be the best thing I've ever seen.

Missus bought me a load of random world beers for my birthday - one for each year - packaged in a rather nice crate from Holland.

I'm up to beer number 8, but this little fella, aptly called Chapeau from Belgium is my favourite so far...

Only 3.5%, but I was expecting it to be not that clever, because of the banananess. But it was** really** nice if you can stomach a sweetness to your ale.

  • Nice gift idea.

  • Yeah, and believe me, she won't let me forget that one ;)

  • Agreed that is great gift, tempted to ask my gf to hold onto that thought until 2025 to get two full crates @ 48

    #forwardplanning

  • seeing as we've had double stout up thread, slowly ploughing through a case of this nice chocolatey malty twelve days
