The 9th of March is the Chiltern Hills Brevet - I was going to ride but am less keen on the early train - Instead I'm thinking of riding out into Kent from London, then riding a 100km perm, then riding back into London for a 200km day, but without the hassle (and cost) of taking the train - anyone else interested? Probably do this one - http://www.aukweb.net/perms/detail/WW07/ plus we also get to pick up some of those delicious Audax Altitude Award points!
Leisurely 9am start from East London

Any takers for the Kennet Valley Run this sat?
-

I have heard that the Kennt Valley Run is good, but I can't make anything this weekend - I might try a short spin out into Essex but will almost certainly be drunk when I do so.

Also - I think on the 9th I'm going to be heading back to Milton Keynes so its not looking good for the Kent ride.
In which case It'll be the Kent Invicta on the 17th. Who is up for riding out and back?

Need another bike. Oh dear.
Between you and me, I did not posted this link to a Velo Orange Rando frame and fork and spend unnecessary amount of money.

Saw this in a WCC email. If the weather's looking ok and I can get some kind of GPS route (looks like there's one on the blog page) I might actually have a crack at an Audax.. 300k

Yeah but I'd like something a bit (lot) nicer.
That bend in the fork? Bleurgh.
When VO started out they did semi custom rando frames, I think built by Johnny Coast -which were lush.
I could go for a classic old British club frame (73 parallel) with a custom fork to give a low trail geo. -

Draw up a geo chart, get Steve Goff to build it with 725 TIG (or lugged if you like).

You're like the fucking bike devil you are.

Well what were you going to do with all those rims you've brought age ago? turn them into earring and sell them in Brixton Villages?

My god, I've just learnt more about Steve Abrahams (aka Teethgrinder)
I am in absolute awe...
Don't think of Steve as a human being. He is not of this world.
Bumped into him at the start of last Saturday's Gospel Pass 150 in Chepstow. He was yawning. He'd set off from Milton Keynes at midnight.

Anyhoo
Anyone doing either the March Madness or the Coasts & Quantocks 200s this weekend. Doing both. Going to break out the carbon fixie on Saturday, and regret it on Sunday.
I'm going back to bespoke next week for a "follow-up bike fit" and to talk about my knee - it'll be cost effective as i've been there before and they have all my fit details etc, and likely to be cheaper than seeing mr scherrit for the first time i reckon
