Is that really 24kg... that's like the weight of a small elephant?
Yep, good ol' American hi-tensile steel.

"ftfy

Sysadmins. What is wrong with this vhost setup.
NameVirtualHost *
ServerName root.%1.lh
ServerAlias root.%1.lh
DocumentRoot /Users/bothwell/Dev/websites/%1/
Apache is apparently trying to route root.anything.lh to /Users/bothwell/Dev/websites/%1/ as a literal string. ( File does not exist: /Users/bothwell/Dev/websites/%1 )
I have enquired on ServerFault but it seems obvious that a braklessfixieskidder BBS is a more natural home for the query.

Yes, but as The Tester has pointed out, sadly factually incorrect.
Although I don't have the exact figures to hand, let's assume, as the elephant gestation period is two years, that at six months in the womb it could well weigh 25kgs.
Surely then it would be more correct to say. 'The bicycle had the equivalent weight of an elephant of six months in utero'. -

Fucksake! I'm not talking about baby or unborn elephants here... Small elephants, the kind that weighs in about the same as a heavy bicycle, or as the case might be 1/4 of Hippy if snorters calculations are correct.

Elephants* whose infants would have typically been the weight of bicycles became extinct about 10000 years before bicycles arose, so it's hard to see how the comparison came about.

Well I'm glad we sorted that one out.

Did they barspin?
-
• #41593
It would be a mammoth task to reconstruct an extinct species to analyse its handling traits, about which I don't give a mahout

Sooo... How do I find out if there's a plague pit at the end of the garden and is it a bad idea to dig the garden?
I've received an email from a charity worker about places to stay on the cheap in London, with bikes - any ideas?
"My name is Maggie and I am a governor of The Woolverstone Project in Ipswich (sailing for people with disabilities) and I am a volunteer involved in Bike Active (cycling for people with disabilities). It has been suggested to me that I contact you as you have a good reputation for being very helpful.
The Chief Instructor of the Woolverstone Project is sailing from the Orwell Bridge here to Tower Bridge to raise awareness of the Project, raise awareness of disability, and to raise some funds. Being a cyclist, not a sailor, I thought it would be good to cycle from bridge to bridge, seeing him off in Ipswich and meeting up with him when he arrives at Tower Bridge. On our journey we are staying in village halls. My problem is finding somewhere to stay in London overnight which is reasonably priced, and that is why I am emailing you - to see if you can help. We will be self-sufficient, with sleeping bags etc and just need somewhere to get our heads down for the night. I don't have the exact number of cyclists yet, but it could be up to 20, and the date we need the accommodation is Saturday 11th May.
If you can give me any ideas, suggest anywhere, or anyone else I could contact, I'd be very grateful."
Do Guy's/St.Thomas' or London College of Communication have decent halls they could sleep in? Or where else?
