  • Nope, nor do I need to waste money on rims that I'd instantly regret buying as soon as I skidded through a tub and punctured somewhere.

  • my point is Dammit is commuting on tubs, and he never complained

  • Dammit also has a brake :-)

  • He skids like a fucking mad man though.

  • also it's perfectly possible to ride brakeless and not skid all the time with no issues

  • Yeah I don't really skid on my 3rensho.

  • Yeah I.agree, i dont skid that much on the pomp, but with 72GI i think it would be difficult To slow down just with my knees.

  • With Dom's assistance...

i do ride's when i wont do any skids on 74 fine

  • In bristol too.

I always found places like the St Michaels hill (with the lights at the bottom and zero view of the fast traffic crossing your path) too sketchy to be fun when brakeless. That's probably the only place it was a problem but I was riding it 4 times a days.

    CSB.

  • i never go anywhere near St Michaels hill, fuck that

  • Yeh I lived in Clifton for a bit. I wont do that again.

  • Why have you got a TT protector with risers???

  • Sweet wheels fam! Builds looking sick... Stem needs slam though, especially if you're running a pearl.

As for the breakz debate... Pffft.

I think anything is rideable without them, but the question is more down to you. Yours and others safety is the most important thing, so whatever you think you need to stay in control.

I see people running brakes on fixed and using them all the time, because they're there.

I would've got silver rims if I were planning to brake on em.

  • ^^the stem can hit the top tube if it swings right round, although it looks too high at the moment... if you're not going to slam dat slem sell me the protector?

  • risers can still hit the TT

The stem hits the top tube.

Tbh, I think it'll be fine, just have to get used to that GI.

Its TFGs own brand quill but yes it is high at the moment due to the bullhorns I was using previously. Will be moved down soon :-)

Oh and ta! They are sweet wheels, much happier with it in this state!

I will be slamming that stem I'm afraid. At some point I'll also be getting b125s and a jag for the track as I'd like to get in on the HH action in the spring, so I'll definitely need it...

  • Not too much of a worry with those grips, figure out which is gonna hit first and position the protector accordingly.

I have risers + jag, and use a pearl and B125 for the drop set up. I'm not the most flexible like, but if you're spending time in the drops you might as well be comfortable.

  • Looking good bro! Got those wheels trued yet? I'd like to see this rolling again.

  • No man, did absolutely nothing after you left. Next weekend hombre.

Also not sure of what tyres to buy. Obviously hardshell on the back, but tempted to get a GP4S or GP4000 for the front.

  • gp4000

  • My GP4000 has treated me well.

  • I say tan walls

  • ultra sport folding is light and does what it says on the tin.

  • I say tan walls

    but yeah, this.
