  • Demba Ba saying he is detached from Money.

Are you kidding me? His contracts have been orchestrated around him earning money from transfers.
When his knee goes pop and some team have a player on 80k, with a long term contract, it will be pwoppa lolz.

is there any chance of Spurs getting the cheque book out and signing Damiao, or is AVB just playing games/smoke screens - certainly from what I've seen of Spurs this season, he would go a long way to completing the team.

Apparently the people behind Ba are the real money grabbers. According to Pardew anyway.

Damiao would be an awesome addition, he was so good at the Olympics. We need another striker with some goal potential, seeing as Adebayor is misfiring at the moment.

Also, Willian could be on the cards.

  • have a look at the last 20 transfer windows

spurs have never set up smoke screens especially not while comolli was there
and they definately do not link themselves to everyone under the sun during transfer windows

    NOT

  • So who will be coming to Liverpool this month that will really benefit us in our push into the top 7?
    Time for a list

    1.

  • the pardew statement on ba was quite amusing
he reckons the mugs sitting round the table with chelseas mugs were not even part of ba's advisory / management team they were just there on the off chance of a few crumbs falling of the table
it is the west african / african way of life
lots of intermediaries all expecting a cut .. and lots of people with nothing to do with it also expecting a cut

  • Surely by actively being uninvolved and disinterested I get a cut.

  • We've wanted Damiao for a while, but his price just keeps kicking up as he does better. Think he's currently injured - not sure how long term the injury is - but that could be a way of lowering the transfer fee. Also not sure how smart it is buying a crocked player is, yeah it gives him time to acclimatise and settle in, and you're looking to the future, but we need striker help right now, not at the end of this season, beginning of next...

Like that AVB has said who he wants/is continuing to bat eyelashes at, but worry we will be held to ransom over fees, if we don't have any other options..

Though as usual we are being linked to many players, Remy, Llorente, Ba, Wilian, Sneijder, etc

  • Llorente to join Barca in the summer on a free.

    #tapsnose

  • No chance, Bilbao will want to cash in on him while they can.

  • That's not their decision to make though is it. He can now sign for any club he wishes.

Rumors abound that there's been an agreement between Llorente and Barcelona since last summer when his transfer request got blocked.

  • Demba Ba excluded from tonights team to face Everton

    In talks again with Chelsea

  • Can someone explain to me why Chelsea should buy Demba Ba when we've still got Torres and Lukaku on the books?

Can't see him getting many games next season when a proper forward gets signed up and Lukaku comes back as an impact sub trying to fight his way into the starting line up.

  • Surely by actively being uninvolved and disinterested I get a cut.

yup speak to mr abromovich and he'll get you your £100k right away

  • Can someone explain to me why Chelsea should buy Demba Ba when we've still got Torres and Lukaku on the books?

At £7 million, and £80 000 a week, even with dodgy knees, he probably looks like great value to a man for whom money is no object. I mean, if you had spent £50 million on a centre-forward, £7 mil looks like a present.

  • Sturridge has signed long term deal with liverpool.

    #oldnews

  • Meanwhile, back at the Emirates, Ar$enal are getting the cheque-book out.

To pay some club, any club, to take Denilson & Bendtner.

and there was little old me worrying about FFP and all that malarkey.

  • Lampard to

    ....marry Christine Bleakley this year

  • and there was little old me worrying about FFP and all that malarkey.

I really want to believe that FFP will become a reality, not least in anticipation of Clive's rants about it, but I can't believe a man that robbed the Soviet people of so much will let a bunch of incompetent sports administrators stand in his way.

Another potential plus of FFP might be that the Fat part of Fat and Orange might go away.

Speaking of orange, have Blackburn hired Phil Orange yet?

  • Rooney is off

...form at the moment I feel

  • I can't see Willian going anywhere if I'm honest.

Donetsk do not need the money and are in the champions league and playing great football. Although like luiz adriano and Douglas Costa, you would expect them to make the step sooner or later. Saying that Fernandinho and Ilsinho never have.

With the season now done in Brazil - I can see a transfer for Damiao likely, it's just whether Tottenham have the cash. It will mean another of Internacional's stars leaving within the space of 12 months after Oscar departed in the summer but they may see the progression of Mike as well as Diego Forlan presence as enough fire power. He has the necessary attributes to be one of the best in the league and I wouldn't be overly worried about his fitness, he struggled for form this season - but I think his team overall missfired this season.

Bleacher Report said Liverpool should go for him - 22million should get him I reckon.

I think you've answered your own question.

We'll get money for the pair of them - if they'll take a pay cut.
I think Chamakh, Santos, Arshavin and Squillaci will all have takers this transfer window. It also looks like a couple of teams are in for Djorou on loan

The kid from Southampton, Adrian, Zaha and a strong holding midfielder would be my preferences.

  • I think you've answered your own question.

    lol
if it wasn't for lampard chelsea would have 0 in the goals for column this season

I'd be sorry to see Arshavin and Santos go.

Arshavin could have been one of the best players in the world, but I guess that isn't going to happen now. I wonder why it hasn't worked out?

Santos is just great entertainment, whether he's playing well or incredibly badly. Every team should have a slightly overweight left-sided Brazilian. If only to watch him track back.

Chamakh is in the same boat as Denilson & Bendtner in terms of wages. I doubt that anyone is willing to pay them what they get now. I can't see any of them taking a pay-cut to go to a 'lesser' club, and I can't imagine a 'big' club coming in for them.

If we buy, I hope whoever it is turns out to be a surprise quality buy like Henry or Pires, rather than a much-heralded purchase who goes bad, like Na$ri or Reyes.

  • What a remarkably odd thing to say, dicki dear chap. I think you meantt "this year" but even that would be wrong as even with Fat (I wish I was that Fat) Frank in the side, we have scored none this year.
