Watched it last night. Went to see it in the cinema, really didn't enjoy it .I thought the gore was a bit over the top. I remember bursting out laughing at the elevator scene (like many others at the screening) as well as a certain someone having their head taken off after about 10 minutes of screentime. Thought it was much better second time around. Bought the DVD today, may watch it again this evening.
He bought it after deciding he liked it.

Admittedly the events in my post didn't occur in chronological order.
For clarity:
Watched it cinema, didn't enjoy.
Re-watched it last night, did enjoy.
Bought the DVD today, watched it tonight, did enjoy again.Oh, and don't watch Pulp Fiction, it'll confuse the hell out of you ;)

I suggest Memento.

• #7083
Memento with bits of Pulp Fiction thrown in intermittently?

Hobbit, wish I could un go see it. 2.50 Hours of my life wasted. So long and a good bit was followed by about half a hour of drivel. 2/10

no Hobbit love? I thought it was alright - enjoyable

Only alright though. Claira and I rewatched the LOTR trilogy after watching it, it's a really shame they've tried to make a a simple story EPIC just to spin it out for another trilogy that links into the the last films. Surely better to have one awesome three hour film than a few that few stretched.

I did enjoy it though.

• #7088
Yeah. Peter Jackson's turning films into soaps

I saw The Hobbit last night, I loved it. I didn't think any of it was drawn out, I like that they have the time to tell the story properly. If anything, I felt the LOTR films were too compressed in places.

• #7090
LOTR extended editions are mucho nicer.
-
• #7091
I saw the Hobbit and thought it was superb possibly better than LOTR .What puzzled me about LOTR is that they did not include the scouring of the Shire and instead made an overly long reference to the Grey Havens part of the book

Picked up the Christopher Nolan Directors Collection on blu-ray the other day. Very lovely times.
Hobbit was adequate. Couldn't have been better. Didn't make it great. High hopes of Mirkwood in next one.

Watched 'Jack Reacher' this eve.
isnt as bad as i thought it'd be.
Tommy Cruise certainly isnt the JR I envision when i read the books, but once you get over that its an OK film.
dont rush to see it, wait for video/ netflix. -

Life of Pi..
I haven't read the book I'm afraid.. But this is a wonderful, wonderful film. SFX were fantastic.. In fact the best I've seen in a long time. Plus it's the first time, for me, that 3D has really enhanced a film.
I beautiful cinema experience.

Anybody seen Killer Joe? really not sure what I think
Old post now, but: meh. Felt like a throw-back to the '90s when everyone was (ironically) making Tarantinoesque crap.
But the red-neck atmosphere of the first half was entertaining on its own.

I liked it. Thought it was a funny script. That scene was a bit heavy, and not exactly date material, but otherwise what you'd expect from Friedkin.
Not for the sensitive and overly knowing Canadian crowd though.

I always had my suspicions about you, Bmmf.
disapproving look
