Also, I got this one Xmas, it was crap. The circuit was a dull figure of eight, and my grandad drove a Mini Metro
My uncle had this one, with a humpback bridge (that my sister stood on and snapped one Christmas) which was far superior in every way
I trashed my Metro's in order to get my dad to get me some better cars, but he saw through it and I was left with a useless, car-less scalextric set.
Spookily, trashing small 80's hatchbacks was something I would become fairly proficient at as I entered my late teens. -

Hot Wheels Loop Track!
I think I had enough track to make two courses and race my cars. One similar to this was always the fastest:

Never owned but would** love going into the Early Learning Centre in Redditch town centre to play** with this
Also, we had the Mighty Metros pictured above, they were way better with a marble blu-tacked over the rear axle for mad whip skidz. Fig 8 sucked but only needed one extra small pack of track to make all kinds of awesomeness.
Incidentally, the workshop I work in was formally the home of a shady underground scalectrix club that would meet at the end of a shithole industrial road in tottenham and race/drink/gamble til the small hours of the morning.

Seems to be powered in the same way as one of my old favourites...
Spin them up, point them at each other and let go. Bam! Bits of car everywhere. Put them back together, do it again, endless fun. -

That has so clearly been set up by an adult. No child would ever play with it like this.

It's about to crash!
No, the bloke on the left has just shot it down.
It's about to crash and crush those poor people!
Just for Oliver. Some more potential disasters in Legoland.
