  • I went past it the other day and remember it having a different name, can't recall what it was though.

  • It wasn't Pista Resistance, I know that, but I can't remember what it actually was. I tried to take a mental note of it but I think I'd lost braincells from being in the Westfield at Stratford.

Not sure who runs it or the name of the person who I spoke to.

I am basically no use at all, sorry. Would still recommend the shop though...

  • A mention for Balfe's on Kennington Rd. I blundered in with a minor niggle which was as far from an emergency as possible. The super friendly chap dropped everything to have a look straight away, chatted away while I got in the way in their workshop and even tolerated my ill informed comments about his BMC track bike which (due to those curvy seat clusters BMC's play host to) I mistakenly thought was a CX frame at first glance. The minor problem in question was as a result of my own fettling ineptitude, they spent ages getting it right and charged me not much money for the hassle. I'll pop in there again as they are right near where I work. Definite recommend. Not far from the corner or Kennington Park Rd so in a good spot for commutery issues to be resolved.

  • If he have glasses, stubble and a slight double chin, that's Ben, used to work at my shop, I too take the malarkey of his cracking BMC.

  • Far be it for me to comment on the chin situation (can't say I noticed to be honest, double or otherwise) but his BMC is indeed in the wars so I guess we are talking about the same guy.

Good bloke. All three of the guys in there were very friendly.

  • Me recc Balfe's too.

  • My LBS is worth a mention, called "Get a Grip" on Lavender Hill near Clapham. Troy the owner is incredibly knowledgable and friendly. Recently had my new carbon wheels trued there, sent me a text to say they were ready, and said I could bring them back for a free tune up in a couple of weeks.. Champion

  • Bike24.de are always very reliable, and things arrive very quickly, considering that they are coming from Germany.

  • Cannot thank look mum no hands more

they've spent good time searching for a headset for me, installed my old fork to find not enough stack height, removed the forks and headset then fitted an english headset with the new forks i gave them and are only charging me for the new headset as they've dinged some paint off the old forks which aren't even of any use to me!

    best LBS.

  • Nice flat-whites too.

  • Cyclelab do some of the best coffee I've had and offer great service on anything bike related.

The owner is a good friend so I maybe a little bias.

Uses Square Mile coffee though which is superb though.

  • +1 to LMNH and indeed to Cyclelab.

  • Planet X bikes send me an email today at 8am, "your item has been shipped, will be with you in 2 to 7 days". Get home from work this evening, item is sitting there waiting for me. Zoomy fast.

  • ordered something from wiggle, when I got the City Link 'sorry we missed you, here are some really awkward options to choose from, and a phone number we will never answer lol' card, I went on the wiggle chat thing and they reorganised the delivery to come to my work instead.

Not exactly speedy but it means I don't have to ride to some shithole depot in the dark, which I definitely count as a win

  • I ordered some stuff from on-one yesterday afternoon. This morning I got a dispatch email saying please allow 2-5 days for delivery, fair enough I thought. The stuff arrived just after lunch today. Less than 24 hours turnaround time - awesome.

  • My girlfriend had her Brooks stolen the other week (obvs), so we went to Cycle Surgery in Holborn to get a new seatpost, and they gave us a free saddle too. Just a shit one that they were going to throw away anyway, but still a pleasantly surprising gesture from a chain shop like that.

  • Apple - I know, I know. But seriously, yesterday I went in with a broken keyboard, no appointment, very little time and no warranty (out of date by 9 days).

Today I collected fixed puter, at no cost. What awesome people and so close to Christmas. From nightmare to all sorted in under 24 hours.

  • If you find yor self in deepest Kent wih a need of a friendly bike shop then I can recommend RM Cycles in Tenterden.
Had often passed it but this time due to me getting two separate cuts and of course punctures on the ride out and still 3 hours fom home I was slightly nervous so popped in for a new tyre.
Greetings, tyre chosen, fitted, front tyre pressure also checked, gears checked, brake pads commented on and paid for in 10 minutes.
Run by a young team they were very helpful and professional, great service indeed.

  • wiggle. 20 minutes after ordering tyres i get a message saying they are packed and ready for despatch

  • A happy nod to the lady in Evans - that's right Evans on Rathbone st near Tottingham Court Rd. went in to pick up a knog backup and made an inquiry about some tyres... She was super knowledgable, friendly and got a sale out of it. Was really thorough helping the guy before me too, recommending he get himself down to Herne Hill etc. All while they were pretty understaffed for rush hour. Good plate spinning skills. It's possible you're on here - in which case hello and cheers to you.

  • email this to that specific Evans store, it's worthwhile.

  • Balfes Bikes in East Dulwich, my LBS.

Have been in there a couple of times at possibly the busiest day for a bike shop (i.e. saturday morning) and whilst busy they've always been unflappable. Been super accomodating with test riding bikes.

  • New hubjub guys gave me cracking customer service and very decent prices too it seems.

  • Evans on Clapham Road t'other week - my chain came off just up the road, I couldn't get it back on as one of the bolts had seized in the dropout and I couldn't move the wheel forward (in addition, I suffer from mental retardation).

Went in to Evans just as they were about to close but a lovely young chap sorted it all out for me within a couple of minutes and sent me on my way. Thanks!

  • simplybearings.co.uk - not the most exciting thing but placed order at noon yesterday and received some shiny bearings at 12 today. They have a £1.50 standard postage charge regardless of size of order. I have read loads of other positive comments by people who have placed an order by phone too.
