right, just wondering if anyone can help please - yesterday I thought it would be a good opportunity to try messing about with my phone seeing as I am getting a new one soon anyway. I rooted it fine, but the problem now is I am stuck on Clockwork Mod recovery screen. It won't let me install the zip - I think I forgot to put the zip onto the internal sd card, or I have done it wrong, is it possible to use a zip from an external sd card? Was going to restore to factory settings and start the process again, but Kies won't recognise the phone and comes up with some random errors. Thanks

You should be able to stick it on the SD card and apply it from there.

Or mount the storage and transfer the zip across, shouldn't need kies at all really.

it wouldn't read the external for some reason, I managed to put the stock one back on through odin thankfully, was getting a bit frustrating. Trying again now

I don't need a new phone just yet, had to send off for a new battery so I've been back on the Hero 'til this morning... My Sensation is fucking great... May try rooting it, if I can find a kind soul out there to help me do it...

Silly question time. Does the new nexus require a micro SIM? I was hoping to transfer my current SIM only (o2) contract onto the phone when its released. How do I turn my normal sim into a micro one? Can I order a new one or just buy a tool to cut it down?

Most mobile phone shops will cut it for you for a quid or two, maybe even for free.
Edit: It requires a Micro-SIM.

I'm 95% sure it is micro sim, you have three options...
- Cut with scissors (you can print a template off web
- Buy cheap cutter from ebay
- Ask your network provider to send you a new one
- Cut with scissors (you can print a template off web

It just needs to be cut down, phone shop will do it for you...

Or you can import all your contacts to google contacts and do it that way.

Just go in to any 02 shop and they should just give you one, Vodafone have always done that for me with SIM cards anyway...

My S3 (bought sim-free from Expansys) just got Jellybean OTA

Micro SIM is easy to make with a pair of scissors. Just remember to err on the side of caution and cut less than you think you need... you can always shave a bit more off later if you like.
Putting the plastic back after you've chopped it off is not so straightforward.

Micro SIMs look suspiciously like normal SIMs only with slightly less of the pointless plastic. Don't be scared, I'll be cutting mine blindfolded with a carving knife. It'll still work

a real man would bite the excess off
I just successfully got Jellybean working on my Galaxy S1, and now it looks awesome. Only took me two days. Can't get the face unlock thing to work yet unfortunately, it forces close every time, anyone got an idea why or how to fix this?
edit: actually think I've worked out why now

Yesterday, my DZ took 2 mins to open GoSMS. I am so ready for Nexus 4.
-
• #9444
GoSMS can be a bit like that tho'...
I wanna install Google Now on an unrooted Sensation running ICS... Possible?
I can't get a straight answer from intrwebz... -

^ Get a Nexus 4 simples

Don't bother, it's shit.
Btw, I think I have to change my recommendation away from a Nexus 4. Simple truth is that I need a removable battery. I hot swap my battery nearly every day. No desk job means that the phone is the main computer and I am not near a charger in the day.
I love never having to worry about battery life anymore. It's a revelation.

That's also made me think twice, as well as reports that the unit is a bit fragile...
Google Now that bad? I like the idea of it making cards up for me to remind me about stuff... Not bothered about the Siri-type stuff... -

Google Now is awesome.
I use it a hell of a lot, and I was pretty cynical about it when I first got it.
-
• #9449
hmm is that on 4.1.2 ?

Screw you naysaying losers, I'm getting a Nexus 4.
We will see... I really fancy one...
