Pretty sure it's the Gateway Arch in St Louis.

If you doubt her patience, do not get her the X100. It's a great camera but it does take time to learn and get the best out of. And will she want to be limited to 35mm? Sony NEX lenses aren't really there yet; zooms are disproportionately large for bodies and 16mm prime is reportedly weak. Panasonic G5? Nikon 1? You may find some good stuff here: http://www.sansmirror.com/

I have a 16-85mm Nikon lens on my camera. This morning the camera was in my bag and for some reason I decided to throw myself over the bars, landing on my bag. Don't know what happened to the camera but i guess some sort of impact on the front on the lens.
The lens looks and optically works the same, but the zoom has now become really stiff, especially at the 85mm end. I feel like continued use is gonna put stress on the mount and break it further or damage the body.
Anyone had experience of this or know if it could be fixed?
Could be a loose screw inside. Take it to Graham (I mentioned him above).

im up north. to be honest it seems to have gotten a lot better, the zoom has loosened up so i think i can live with it. may still do some test shots with grids and stuff but having never done them, i have nothing to compare them to.

Having used one, don't rely too heavily on what you read, it ain't all that bad.

To be honest, if there's anything seriously wrong, it won't take grid samples to see it. Maybe just take a few shots of a brick wall and look for any uneven blurriness etc.

Any one here have an x pro 1? I'm considering getting one based off fondling one at an airport and seeing that it has no noise at iso 3200... My only concern Is the meagre choice of glass.

Haven't been on the forum in ages, and don't think I have ever posted in this thread before. Am bored at home tonight, and have been browsing the forum for the first time in a while!
Here are a few shots from a trip to the Alps back in July.
All shot with a Nikon point and shoot type thing that I borrowed from a mate. Was a very capable little camera! All just cropped, and slightly desaturated in CS5.Rest of the set is here:

what about the XE-1? same sensor. i'm considering getting one when they arrive, depending on price. looks like they're releasing more lenses along with it too.

Hoops, that first one is really nice. I like the tones on all of them too..
The ex-1 is nice but I'd prefer an optical viewfinder. Can probably live with that though.

Tidy work there for holiday shots, wish mine was as good and coherent

After a compact/four thirds smallish camera for general reportage. Around £300, but maybe more if worth it. I am a tart so attracted to the x10s retro stylings (though having handled one I'm impressed by the build quality).
BUT needs to be good in low light. I've heard the x10 ain't brilliant at iso1600. I know a few peeps on here have them.
Thoughts?
Cheers.

Question, 3 day event with 2 after parties. Approx 1500 photos taken... now I'm cutting it down, but I'm not sure to what number. ~200 sound reasonable ?

• #2547
where will the photos go? RA or similar?

Split into day 1, after party 1, day 2, after party 2, day 3 - 50 shots for each?
-
• #2549
All the shots will be online, largest site will be Eurogamer who want the afterparty photographs.
Yeah, thanks for the tip I'll split them up and see how it looks

I'd cull harshly, rather look at 20 really good photos than 50 ok ones
good job steve
