Hi All,
just had my bike stolen outside Tesco's on Goldhawk Road / Shepherd's Bush.
Red Colnago conversion, white forks, white bar tape, gold finger frontbreak, deep rim back wheel, campag cranks and pedals, clips with white double-straps. Quite a few chips here and there.
Also a brown Brooks, chained to the frame.Chased after the thief but lost sight of him when he turned into Shepherd's Bush Road towards Hammersmith.
Just reported it to the police, they were quite helpful, apparetnly there is a 50/50 chance of getting it back.
If anybody sees it, please shoot me a pm. Had this bike for many years and would love to get it back.
Thanks for reading.

Yesterday morning I had my blue unstickered Dolan track bike nicked. It had silver bar wrap, 105 brake levers, scratched carbon forks, 28mm tyres, black chainset, mudguards, silver rack and a child seat on it.
I was in Hackney city farm for about half an hour.
I dont really care too much about the bike, but the fact they stole my little boys seat and left his fireman Sam helmet scratched and thrown, discarded on the floor next to the broken lock has left me feeling pretty fucking pissed off. Especially as it was quite busy down there, right next to a small market.Just had a call from the police, they have my bike, recovered from Brick Lane market yesterday! I had it registered on some scheme, cant remember what it was called but it was free. So there you go, get your bike marked up!!

Thats really good news! Well done! Find out what scheme you used, can you? Ta.

Nice on TT Tom. Good news. Did it still have the kid seat?
-
• #9281
Dont know about the childs seat yet, have to wait till the weekend to pick it up. The scheme was called bike register, the thing is i didnt even follow through with all the registration process, but they had all my deteils anyway. Im very impressed.
Shame I cant buy a new bike though, I had the best excuse! -

^ Bike register is the servie that the Met recommend. You can register your bike and frame number for free for proof of ownership purposes or pay £16 one off for a kit to permenantly and discretely etch a UV mark into the frame that identifies it as yours.
All of my bikes are registered with them.

That's good to hear.
I was there yesterday and saw the police closing down a few kids who were just standing around flogging a a small collection of bikes which were obviously stolen. One of them I saw went for a tenner. You've got the bike back which is a result but the problem is these kids probably only got a caution, if that, and are out there again already stocking up for next week. -

Obvs will keep a lookout.

thanks.
didn't have it locked, i was using the cash point, the bike was leaning next to me against the wall. the thief ran up and literally pinched it from under my nose, jumped on the bike and cycled off towards shepherd's bush road (on the wrong side of the road). he didn't look like he had ridden fixed before and almost crashed a couple of times. unfortunately he didn't. i was very close to catching up with him and knocking him off my bike, but he was just that bit too fast.
i lost sight of him when he turned right on sh bush green. i hung about the area for half an hour or so, hoping i'd see him somewhere.police is now studying cctv footage. fingers crossed.

ps:
in the meantime i'm in desperate need for a cheap-ish beater bike, ideally fixed, for jetting about. medium sized.
please let me know if anybody has anything for sale. -

DenimDong, I live in Hammersmith so will keep a beady one out for this. Quite a few estates round there, so wouldn't be surprised if it's lurking somewhere. Have you got a pic?

thank you finger_jockey.
i was thinking it could still be in the area, i might just get lucky. i have informed most of the bike shops in the area and will check portobello market etc this weekend.
will have to look for a pic that shows the bike (rather than myself) clearly. will pm you if i find one.
if anybody sees a red colnago conversion with white forks and a brooks on gumtree etc - please let me know.
thanks again.

Someone stole the wheels from my Bianchi Pista early hours of Sunday outside Eat on Great Eastern Street. The frame was d locked to the rail but not enough room to get round one of the wheels.
The rear was a stock pista rim with a fixed Miche cog and Conti Grand Prix
The Front was a black rim from a Langster, was in pretty bad shape, again with Conti Grand Prix.Carrying the Frame home on Sunday morning was just what I needed after a night out.
Not expecting anything back, just a warning to others really.

This is just getting worse, the cycle task force are trying their best but I get the feeling it's an endless and thankless task. I got moved 'along' out of Carnaby street when I confronted some scummer trying to nick parts off a locked up mixie - he was going through the panniers etc in broad day light - so I fronted him, pointed out that I doubt that bike was his - light pink, ladies frame, baby blue panniers and also he didn't have the key to unlock it - bit of a heated exchange, then icing on the cake 2 old bill wander up - I point out this guy is blatantly on the thieve... their solution send us both on our way ..fecking useless...went back an hour later bike wasn't there wouldn't surprise me if I he came back and looted it - and this was around 2pm on a Monday afternoon on Carnaby St , not exactly a quiet and secluded place!!!

Oh, one more time, sorry. And thank you. As said, not built as fixed any longer, but a road setup.

I truly am at a loss to imagine what goes through the minds of these vermin, They'd rob the presents from an orphanage at Christmas..
Glad you got the bike back, hopefully with child seat.
