Hello FYI Twitter tells me that Paddington Police Sation has just received a haul of 25 stolen bikes, someone's just recovered theirs which was stolen a week or so ago. Maybe a long shot but might be worth giving them a call if you've had your bike stolen relatively recently.

My Dolan Seta track bike was stolen yesterday afternoon about 3:40 from london fields area. It was only a few months old I had fitted a front brake (cane creek lever and shimano 105). it is in perfect condition. I bought it direct from Dolan so I've got a list of the exact specs which I'll post later along with a pic. It's the blue one you can see on their website and I had rubbed the Sugino logo off the crank when cleaning it with alcohol.

Call from another phone and arrange a meeting, then call the po po and get them to go too. Don't forget to put on a comedy accent now he knows your voice.

More on theft of my My Dolan Seta track bike: it was stolen at about 3:35 - 3:40 pm on 13th (thursday) from inside the grounds of Gayhurst school on Gayhurst Road, Hackney, London, E8 3EN when I went to collect my sons who go there. The bike was left for a few seconds well inside the school grounds, it was in fact next to the door of the reception and is under close CCTV. I've seen the recorded footage of the sub-human scum who had followed me into the school grounds and picks the bike up right in front of the camera seconds before I come out with my son. It is likely that he lives nearby and is quite identifiable. He is tall, I'd say well over 6 feet, scrawney build and with a noticeably slouching posture, he is white, probably in in his early twenties short brown straight hair. he was wearing a grey jacket over a white shirt with a collar. If anyone spots, him grab the nearest blunt instrument and bludgen this evolutionary mistake.
The bike is only a few months old and in perfect condition. I bought it direct from Dolan bikes online and have a complete list of all the parts and their model numbers and spec. A hole had been pre-drilled through the front fork on which I had mounted black Shimano 105 front calliper brake fitted to a Cane Creek brake lever. The Sugino Logo is missing from the crankset as it had rubbed off when I was cleaning the bike with alcohol so this should be easy to identify. There is a smallish scratch on the crossbar and I replaced one of the tyres so they are not matching as purchased. Apart from this it looks just like the image here
http://www.dolan-bikes.com/track-bikes/Carbon/Seta%20Track%20Bike?product_id=238
which is from the Dolan website, same Alpina headset, Navigator Street wheels etc. If anyone sees one being sold anywhere please let me know. There aren't that many around. Any info that leads me to getting it back will be generously rewarded. If it was legal I would also offer a reward for anything that leads to any physical harm being done to the overgrown pondlife i've described above. -

^ Sorry to hear about that mate. I'll keep my eyes open.
I was burgled in SE8 yesterday. None of my bikes went but a lot of smaller stuff.
Thought I'd mention that my Garmin 800 was amongst the stolen items. Eyes open please.

Bulon; thanks for posting that, though sorry to hear about it. A couple of my colleagues from Hackney council are doing a Cycle Training course there once a week so I will be sure to warn them and to keep an eye out.

Thanks everyone for your sympathies, offers to look out etc. That bike was probably the second most important thing to me after my kids in terms of the void it's left; In terms of monetary value it easily takes top spot.
Below is a breakdown of the build as a couple of parts differ slightly from the default Dolan build in the picture I linked to. Unfortunately I don't think I have a photo anywhere of the bike. (One of many regrets .. apparrently the day before this incident there was an attempted theft of another bike at the school in similar circumstances. However the guy was caught by the owner at the scene and no theft actually took place. Prsumably because he didn't get away with it no action was brought against the fucker and worst of all no warning was sent out. It wasn't until mine was stolen the next day that the school issued a warning in the form of a text. That really hurts. And the wider issue is that if an attempted theft isn't treated as seriously as an actual theft (which isn't very seriously anyway) and all that happens is the guy just hands back the bike and walks away, where's the deterrent? If he's lucky he gets to steal the bike, if he's unlucky he walks away no worse off than he was before. If that's how you make a living then you are stupid not to do that as many times as you can fit into a day's work. - I'm not necessarily recommending this as policy but I've lived in South East Asia and it's not unheard of for petty street thieves to be beaten to death by an ugly crowd for a lot less than that which an entire bus queue will look away from to avoid getting involved in the UK. It's the level of social acceptance of this kind of thing here that's sick)

I just saw a Boardman on the stand at Brick Lane, which looked rather too nice to be there. Similar to the above, but with white tape.
Its still on brick lane.
Who lost a black track bike a van something its a metal framed track bike and really not a brick lane bike.

I'm fine.
Professional burgler possibly. Police sent forensic team round earlier. Won't say any more about it on here.
I've lost about a grands worth of stuff. The most expensive and annoying is my Garmin 800. They are not cheap to replace! I cancelled my contents insurance last week to go with an insurer that would cover my bikes but never got round to signing up to the new one.
I'm insured thoroughly now though so if they come back with a van having seen my fleet at least I'll be compensated.
My other stuff is irritating but I use my Garmin almost daily for training etc. Bollocks.

Yesterday morning I had my blue unstickered Dolan track bike nicked. It had silver bar wrap, 105 brake levers, scratched carbon forks, 28mm tyres, black chainset, mudguards, silver rack and a child seat on it.
I was in Hackney city farm for about half an hour.
I dont really care too much about the bike, but the fact they stole my little boys seat and left his fireman Sam helmet scratched and thrown, discarded on the floor next to the broken lock has left me feeling pretty fucking pissed off. Especially as it was quite busy down there, right next to a small market. -

Was it a Boardman Single Speed (Comp SC)? Did it by any chance have a Bontrager stem? Also, was it quite large, around 57cm?
If so, it could be mine, I can provide the frame number...please could you D Lock it and call me on Oh 78 Four 1 Four Five 666 Three if you see it?
Was waiting at the lights on Bishopsgate about to turn left onto Great Eastern Street when a young asian bloke whizzed past me on a fully set up Dolan time trial bike (think it looked like the Stryke) however he went straight through the red, was wearing jogging bottoms and a fluroescent jacket and a £5 helmet, plus beat up old trainers on cleated pedals. Basically he looked like a grade A nodder and it all looked very suspect.
I pulled over to get my phone out to follow in hot pursuit and get a pic but he'd disappeared as I couldn't cross the traffic and I stayed in the area for some time but didn't see him again.
Sorry if it's your bike and I didn't get a photo. Not sorry for accusing the nodder though
