  • Morgan- have a look at this: https://www.dipyourcar.com/home.php

    Camouflage kit, you say...

  • I think for a plain single colour wrap it's around £1500^. Material costs are high so if you have an 850 then it's going to cost a bit more.

Have you ever seen a T5 without the engine light on complaining about the most minor of issues then retarding the map?

They'll do their level best to protect themselves- some of the maps from the more "fingers crossed" of tuners tend to wind in loads of timing, then leave it to the EMS to bring it back when the engine starts pinging.

Often what is needed is to clear the codes after some maintenance work- otherwise you end up with the car trying to protect you from a situation that no longer exists.

  • ....had a test drive in a 200PS Toyota GT-86 yesteday at our toyota dealer..... RWD, boxer engine...

It's actually not that fast and loud BUT it is somehow very fun to drive, a very well balanced car.
just hop in and drive, It's not too aggressive. steering is perfect, shifting is nice and tight....again a very fun car!

they also had a 3L turbo supra sitting there....i was rather keen to drive that one but it was just for display....

    and an old celica convertible...

I'm coveting one of these as a company motor should my overseas move come to pass. They look like an absolute hoot!

  • Small car update - EFI is beginning to feel really good now, responding to millimetres of throttle with no hesitation. Cold start is fine but still likely to improve, hot start requires a small blip of throttle. I'm beginning to get used to the looser converter and the fine throttle control is helping it stay managable. Temps are not going over 190 even in heavy traffic.

Outright performance is hard to assess, the car absolutely flies from 70mph once the converter spools up but it's so long geared that it's only really hitting the powerband at 110 or so (where it's beginning to float around more than is altogether comfortable.)

Flooring it in 1-2 just smokes the tyres off. It's kicking the rear out to the left too which might need a look.

Oh and 7.5mpg so far....hopefully can improve it a bit with some fine tuning and maybe leaning out the cruise AFR.

  • Sounds like you are underpowered for the gearing if you are only hitting the powerband at 110, needs a Lysholm twin screw.

Hehe, I am definitely under-trousered for it. It's pretty terrifying over 125 and still accelerating fast enough to not want to look at the tach... :)

    N/A noise is MAGNIFICENT.

  • Lysholm would take away from the induction hammer a bit, true, but might add considerable fury to the exhaust note?

Should be worth what, an extra 3-400 horsepower on your big block.

  • Yeah, unfortunately I'm already pretty close to the limits of the stock block - caps start to creep over 700hp. Would be easier to swap the heads and rotating assembly over to a mega block then pick up another 200hp easy with more compression (13:1) and a BIG roller cam instead.

Not in this car though, it's quite silly enough for me already!

  • A Typical Day at the Dorchester

  • That reminds me - a while back I rode past there to see some very flash custom Porsche, the likes of which I'm not familiar, with a Veyron parked either side. Two of them. The Porsche looked common. Never seen anything like it.

  • Two ovlov's amazon's I believe that should be saved.

Under the green tarp in the other.

  • I always glance at the yellow one when I go past.

    I love this Amazon:

  • Faaaaaak.

    Awesome vid.

At first I was like Evo, then F1? car shat on everything.

  • Terrible colour for those cars.

  • Grey, silver, black or blue only.

  • Everyone should experience a hillclimb first hand. I was at Doune on Saturday for the first time and it was nuts. Standing 10 feet away from single seaters doing 130+ on a twisty track only 2 feet wider than the car gives you goosebumps. Tempted to buy, and strip a wee Clio 172 or mx5 or something and entering the modified production class next year. Not much money could buy a whole bunch of fun.

  • Me, my brother and a couple of mates are thinking of doing a roadtrip out to watch an euro hillclimb with the modified ex-works cars. Watching the videos is nice and the stuff you get over here is cool, but it's not the same.

  • @kyuss: He must have balls bigger than King Kong!

Litchfields is so cool. They have a Bugatti sat in the corner of their workshop which makes a nice conversation piece.
