Just gave the seatpost a rough and ready polish to get the worth of the marks off, i've stripped the parts of the lo-pro and now i just need to transfer them over.
I'm wondering about using my old brooks bartape for the bars...

interesting! been looking for something like that for a while. 20 is a bit steep for a 'novelty' light though
Is there something similar for the rear end of my bike?
if you're handy with electronics you can get an old one, strip out the gubbins and rewire it with an LED, fox did it i believe, maybe ask him for his specs?

Yeah that's my plan too... even got an old lamp to do it with. It's just up to me to get my arse in gear really

I ran out of light before I got it finished, its almost finished.
I reckon I might be able to get some 28c's in there too in the future.

well this is how it looked built, for all of 10 minutes
it was such a short time because firstly halo hubs are shit and I've managed to strip both sides of the fucking hub now, and secondly I've realised the bars are too narrow for my liking, so I'm going to change them for the risers I had on the lo-pro.
I'm looking into getting a halo fixed-g hub to replace that one as its the safe flange hight to i can just do a straight hub swap and i wont have to worry about fucking lock rings any more, which is good becuase they're a stupid fucking system.

apparently i'm strong than I thought, I did the first side going on a hill on the lo-pro a while ago and I did the other side at about 6mph on the flat today.

• #109
apparently you didn't pay attention in grammar lessons in school too!
-
• #110
and thats strange, I've never had a thread strip - ever.
-
• #111
I hadn't either till I got these fucking wheels
-
• #112
hmph, which bit is threaded? The cog or lockring?
-
• #113
The lock ring went on both sides, I put a different the other side after I did the first one, just rule that out, but it didn't make a difference.
-
• #114
fair enough, will stay far away from those hubs!
-
• #115
to over come the lack of lock ring threads, I have some spacers made for me as a temporary fix
the problem was that the thread had come off right by the cog so the lockring would just keep turning for ever, i'm hoping that the slimmest spacer will do the job and allow it to be tightened using the renaming thread
as I said this is only a temporary fix

So you're the guy who bought that frame! I kept watching that auction. I really wanted to buy it, but I own a DBS in almost the exact same size (it's 63x58) so it seems kinda silly to own two incredibly similar steel track bikes. The thing I noticed is that the blue seems to be the exact same color as my DBS. I know Cycleurope owns DBS, Monark, and Crescent (as well as Bianchi). Maybe they were made at the same time and just painted the same color (after they were shipped to up North from their respective builders). My DBS was made by Daccordi, and shipped to Norway where it sold as a DBS. Funny thing is, I also put one bid in on my DBS and got it for like 300 shipped. The bike looks great! Sorry if you've mentioned this already, but how do you plan on painting it?
