So you like it? :)

Interesting stuff, does yours have the same fork crown or odd seat post size?
-
• #129
The fork crown has no markings (and is also not drilled for a brake). The seatpost size is 27.2.

Rack, light and replacement hub have been ordered. Still haven't decided on a paint job
this is said hub, hopefully the difference in the silver wont be too visable

• #131
Is that a front disc hub? How are you going to use that as a rear track hub? I mean, you can get cogs that mount to the disc mount, but that doesn't do anything to help the fact that it's 100mm spacing, not 120mm, and it has a quick release.

converter kits are available from velosolo for example - axle, spacers, nuts.
no problem doing it yourself if you're tech-savvy..
-
• #133
and actually I'm sure wheel is more aero too. slightly, but still. hm..
-
• #134
They're really easy to convert, just swap out the hollow axle and use a spacer kit. I need to check but I might be able to re-use the axle from the halo hub, I'll definitely not be buying spacers I'm just got to get some machined up in work. I'm bolt on cogs are so much better, no cross threading, no slipping, no fucking lock ring. They just make sense.

Got some new stuff today, it's getting hella functional up in my crib
Winebox needs to be waxed/oiled to waterproof it, as well as drainage hole and I need to sort out some form of mounting. The rack is bloody brilliant it takes my full sized panniers too.
I think I've picked a good wine box; place looks classy:

Not sure if the wheel will be finished by the weekend in which case I might have to set this up on my raleigh instead

Drainage holes drilled. Box has been sanded and the first coat of varnish is on, second will be done after lunch. Just need to guillotine up a strip of alu and visit the hardware shop to get some roofing bolts, penny washers, rubber wasters and wing nuts then its all ready for mounting

Finally got the wheel built up, and I had 0.8mm skimmed off a 27mm Laprade seatpost which fixed my the various problems I was having with the shitty 3TTT one. Its all built up, just needs a spot of tweeking and it'll be ready to go.

The photos are clearly the work of a poor photographer, what class they do have is clearly the work of a photographer's assistant punching well below his weight.
I like this bike, I can vouch for its comfort, and for the grin that comes with riding a bike with a big wooden box on the front.
