Best looking 5 spoke around if I say so myself. Shame they're £1000 roughly, dependent on where you buy them from -

Since she's off the road right now (well, I am) I figure I can post mine in here. Won't be seeing the changes I was planning for a little while now, sadly...
First upgrade was gonna be some silver Sugino 75s so don't rag on the Messengers (although they're actually ok really).
Afraid I can't get a better picture because she's living with a friend until I'm fit to ride her home.

I wish I never got rid of my spok. Although it was one of the older skinny ones which imo don't look at home on fat tubed alu frames.

I've always wondered what those saddles would look like chopped. Bit gutted that doesn't work visually. I still wonder if a more classic seatpost would work?
IIRC Boardman rode on Spoks in the early 90's on a 753 Ribble lo-pro i think - he was pretty nerdy about aerodynamics etc, so they must have some redeeming aerodynamic benefit - they weren't invented exclusively so that BLB could flog them to the retarded.
I'm not really sure that proves anything other than people once thought that there was an aerodynamic benifit...
...and the fact that they're not around, while disc wheels are pretty much says it all.
IMO they're ugly, heavy and of no benifit. At least over-spoked deeeeep rimz tend to be stiff and strong. And they can look good.

Interesting assertion and pretty true it would appear....
According to this http://www2.bsn.de/cycling/WheelAerodynamics.html the rotating drag of a decent trispoke beats an aero rim and is of equal performance to a disc, the only data for aerospokes is supplied by the manufacturer and shows them inferior to a shamal but substantially better than a helium or similar low profile spoked rim. -

aerospoke actually masterminded the booming popularity of fixies and hipster culture.

• #7773
yeah i'm not a fan either. cant work out if they look worse coming out of seat tube at setback point or coming out straight then going back... either way ther are nicer posts on the market.
