Is that a Sachs 2 speed hub?
If so, I'm jealous, much superior to the new SA. -
• #178
If someone wants to build bling 451 wheels (would require a new front fork probably)
-
• #179
Yup its a Fichtel & Sachs Torpedo. A louder click for lower gear like modern hubs have would be nice pretty I'm happy with it otherwise. Haven't seen another shopper with that way of folding either, much cleaner than having a massive hinge in the middle.

Anyone needs a set of regular black Kenda tyres for their shopper?
20" x 1.5 (40x406). Virtually new.
Like Kenda Kwest, similar thread.I'll take them off once the Schwalbe Big Apples arrive.
Yes please! No rush...still need to get the frame powdercoated...

Fitted Big Apples today. Barely clear the rear SKS mudguard.

Also, I will have that front 406 wheel fo' sales soon.
74mm OLD hub
I've just found a front Kinetix Pro S wheel (Rolf) on a Pantour suspension hub, so no spoke for now. Probably will get a rear Aerospoke, because I'd have to change the gears to 8 or 9 for Rolf or Kinetix, as they don't accept drew on hub with 7 spd cassette.

Right, but I'll probably move it here:
Raleigh Shopper? Let me introduce Dahon. Two different things, although technically my Raleigh is also a Dahon.

woah, lip up fatty!
-

The only problem with a lightweight wheels I'm getting is that I will have to loose those Big Apples. Don't think they'd squeeze on 14mm like Marathons Plus and even if they did, there's always a chance they can roll off when cornering.

Are those 50s or 60s?
I got the 50mm Marathon Supreme (new tread), relatively light, nice round tire on Sun Rhyno Lite. -
• #188
50mm. They fit the standard rims ok, but Kinetix Pro are better off with 40mm tyres.
I'll see. Someone posted online, that they're possible to slip on, but only after a scoble-sque fight like with fat Randos.

Post when done, I'd like to see the whole project.

Yellow chain? (see above)

As I said, highest visual spectacle. It don't come cheap. ;)

No racks, no mudguards?
Chevron the fuck out of here with your ridiculous bike! Worst shopper resto I've seen in a long time.
Certainly a spectacle, but not in a good way... -
• #197
It's not a horrible bike, but yeah, racks mudguards and chain guard would be better on a trad restoration like that. And the yellow chain really can gtf.
-
• #198
This one's cheap. Last month there was a fixed brakeless one with a honey Brooks B17 and moustache bars (sewn leather gimp grips) for £350.

100 or 74mm OLD?
This is my early 70's Peugeot folder that I recently rescued from a nice dry basement. Didn't need much work except for greasing the bb and hubs! Coaster brake and two speed kickback gears working well, only thing I'm gonna buy is new bungee chords cus the old ones are stretched out.
