    Please don't twist it!

there is a tool thats perfect for old seat posts (unless they have chemically welded in which case your buggered, but doesn't look like that here) its just a single ended hand saw that takes hacksaw blades. Fit a fresh metal blade and away you go.
Make at least 2, maybe 3 cuts, and eventually you will get through to the seat tube (its obvious once you've gone through the alu). Make a large pot of tea, stick an old matt out and get to it on the sofa, should take 45-90minutes max.

  • if its chemically bonded you still have a chance with coke/caustic soda

  • You could try some rhinoceros dribble though. Its one of the best release agents known to man

  • From the TT Motherlode in ebay finds

I've no idea how to link to ebay pictures - but that Nike bike! The state of your nuts if you bashed the stem on that...

  • See HHSB for the URL

  • It wouldn't be any bigger as the centre of a black hole is described as a "singularity". The event horizon may seem to be further from the black hole, but the actual point at which the mass is concentrated will not grow in size.

    #sentfrommyofficeatcern #actuallyhavenoclueaboutastrophysics

I see what you are saying, but the size of a black hole is determined as the size of its event horizon. After a black hole merger, due to their combined mass, the event horizon would be larger so the black hole would be bigger.

  • maths is so odd, 3 skid patches for my current ratio, but drop one tooth and i get 18

    The actual formula is

(no. of rear sprocket teeth) / (highest common factor of (no. of teeth on rear sprocket, no. of teeth on chainring))

So as long as either the number of teeth on the chainring or sprocket is prime, the number of skid patches will be the same as the number of teeth on the rear sprocket.

    maths thread >>>>>>>>

I solved a few few times with a adjustable reamer.
Takes some time, but works perfectly.
A good bike mechanic or race dealer has a set.
And on Ebay, these are also not that expensive.

  • Just picked up the front wheel. Bit worried about tubs, but I'll try and find a newer/blacker one tomorrow and see what fitting them is like...

  • what are the main reasons for not running tubs on the road?

  • If they puncture you have to change the tub. Only if you're skilled enough can you fix said puncture, or you pay some bloke to do it for a few quid.

Changing a tub on the roadside can be a major arseache

  • if you acquire a bad puncture and the tub you are using is unrideable then you're a little screwed.
    edit: what he ^ said.

  • plenty more opinions on this in the "tubs" thread

  • anyone ever feel overwhelmed by CPs? - (my disorganised pottingshed stash as of sunday, (and I'm picking up another frame tomorrow)).

  • Is that De Rosa a Corum?

I think you may want to start a sale thread.....

  • My missus would castrate me if I had that many ongoing projects.

  • if its chemically bonded you still have a chance with coke/caustic soda

I used ammonia dilute recently, from homebase. Worked a charm.

  • No it's an Al+ (rather nice though)
The other bits and bobs include a shorter lo-pro, a bob jackson vigorelli, a 1930's claud butler path frame, an AC World force custom downhill bike, and a fausto Coppi Lugano skidder. Somewhere under the DH beast there's a Raleigh superbe

  • Rik, are from Holland?

  • Rik's not my real name - I nicked from one of the riders I wanted to be like when I was a kid (6-day in the winter, classics in the spring, hairnet helmets, no gloves etc)

  • Didn't answer your question - I live in windsor, UK

  • So Just got my chinese carbon up and running after a long while :) It's nice, from what i've ridden but only problem is, it feels like it's slipping on the 4th and 5th ring on the cassette. All the other gears work perfectly, maybe cos i'm running DA cassette with 105 chain and mech? who knows

Also added to the stables is this beast. Wheels are very temporary

Yep, it depends on how you interpret the word "size"... I think we're both right.
