You'll probably have to flash it yourself like you have been doing. Best to wait for a day to make sure it's rootable and suchlike

• #7153
D'oh, yeah. Didn't think about doing it like that. Cheers

Hmm I keep with the Miui roms on my nexus... maybe it's time to move to something else.

Yes. AndyX rom is working wonderfully for me. He's been booted off xda though as he used a shite uploader. I've been running his 5.2 rom for a couple of weeks with no problems at all. I haven't tried his 6.0 as some users said 5.2 was the best. Use CF root for your phone if you haven't already and remove your battery for 5 minutes after rebooting with the rom installed to force close some processes you can't otherwise get to.
If you struggle downloading the zip file let me know and I'll try to send it to you.
Using this now, how you finding the battery? Seems pretty terrible so far

did you recalibrate the battery monitor?

I'm on 6.1 now but I never had any issues with battery life, in fact I'd say it was excellent as I can get up to 3 days if I don't nail it. Have you removed the battery since rebooting? That cured my phone not going into deep sleep after loading 5.0. If you haven't already done so, install cpu spy to see if your phone goes into deep sleep or not.

I'll try that now. Cpu spy reports its not been in to deep sleep(?)

Thinking about it, I had to go into app settings and clear data from pretty much every Google app to get the phone to enter deep sleep on one of the roms. I cant remember which one though. Better Battery Stats showed them as having most of the wake locks and doing this sorted it.
Good luck!

Is it possible to calibrate the battery on a stock android? I want to get an extended battery for my streak and have read that the phone won't see the extra bit without doing that.

Yep download battery calculator and run that. Worked wonders on mine.

Work have given us HTC tiny things with no Office viewer (useful) andtouch screen keypads without cursors & impossible to type on.
I'm looking for apps to:
allow me to add Cursor on keyboard
view Office Docs without compromising phone integrity (there's 7000 listed, most are probably data miners I guess)
type anything other than jibberish.
Thanks in advance.

I think it helped. I'm down to 40% which seems a lot better. I've had it nine months and cained the battery so I suppose I can't expect the best.
I'll probably buy one of the extended batteries soon

I wouldn't be surprised if Windows phones aren't being subsidised somehow by Microsoft themselves. They need to get their phones into the hands of the public somehow, but most people don't want a Windows phone.

Microsoft make more money from Android than they do from Windows Phone.
As for that last comment, most people don't know what a Windows phone looks like, so don't even know they don't want one.

MIne's been going weird lately, it's been picking totally wack words and doing other totally crap stuff since I moved to a Sensation... Not as in love with it as I once was, gonna try SwiftKey I reckon...

Swiftkey is the shit. Ive installed it on two phones Ive had.
When the official ICS update rolls out for the GS2 I won't be able to plug in and update my flashed phone will I?
