• He made his position about as clear as milkshake! He was in and out of the lane and then nearly rear ended the car in front of him. He looked for al the world like he might do one up either side of the traffic at any moment. Generally crap road behavior by everyone culminating in a massive over reaction in my opinion.

  • No idea where to post this so please move if more appropriate somewhere else.

Cyclist in this video is a monumental prick.

Edit: Not making excuses for the patently pig-headed driving manouvers either. The whole thing is just one big angerwank.

  • angerwank, I am looking for a new polo team name

  • Go with crywank (better).

  • bit obvious

  • that was a bad game

  • It can't just be me who thinks the cyclist is well out of order here - his reaction is way over the top. I see worse than that nearly every day.

same. I think it was the part where the driver moved further in to the gap after the cyclist gesticulated that caused him to react like that.

Didn't the same car clip the chaved up clio a few seconds earlier?

  • Has any of you run into inconsiderate National Express / Eurolines coaches drivers? I have had 3 very unpleasant experiences with them in this past moth alone.

    1. A Eurolines drive (left side) who provoked me which I ignored on Peckham Rd, he kept pushing me to the very left, which I tried to avoid including slowing down to avoid him, but he ended up cutting into me and only left less than half meter gap between me and the kerb. He was very skilled that he managed to not to have any physical contact between his coach and my bike, he pulled over, stuck his middle finger up and drove away. Went to the police, was told he is not a UK driver and that I wasn't "touched" in anyway, couldn't do anything. Reported to National Express, got a standard letter. Disappointed.

    2. A National Express driver actively drove onto the bus lane on Old Kent Road and without acknoladeging my existence, again, he did it far too close and he was coming from behind very speedily. it was nowhere near as bad as what happened above, but still, I was cycling on the bus lane peacefully with no other Lonodn Buses needing the lane as it was quiet.

    3. I was on foot crossing the road from B&Q on Old Kent Road, a Express Coach jump the red light with going at least 30mph. I saw all cars Were stopping when the light was going from yellow to red, this coach came from far behind, speed up and jump the red light, I am glad I was a bit slow that day and had a delay reaction to the green light for peds.

I don't know if it's worth calling National Expreess again to report 2 and 3, I feel I should as both were coach 007 going to Dover which could well be the same driver, but then what exactly are they going to do with it apart from a verbal warning at the best?

Am I just that unlucky? As much as I dislike the dreadful Old Kent Road, I have found the drivers are usually patient enough with cyclists as long as you don't slow down / hold up traffic.

  • 3 instances in one month? No smoke without fire...

Did you get any of their number plates?

  • 1 and 2 I did but the 3rd one no coz I was on foot so the angle was difference, plus he was going toooooo fast.

  • Commercial vehicles. You've got reg nos. Report them. If National Express have any sense, they won't want to be associated with endangering people's lives. Suppose it hasn't stopped Addison Lee though.

  • A year or so ago I must have had a target painted on my back or something because I got a lot of hassle from the 007 on my commute, but the trouble only seemed to last a month and I haven't feared for my life since. Worth reporting, in any case.

  • can't touch a 00 - licence to kill and all that

  • Double 0 behave!

  • 50mph differential 1" clearance overtake on rural road this am by V751 LAX white vauxhal van. So fucking close to me and so close to head on with the oncoming car (guess what option he'd have chosen if it had been a little closer) that I've reported it on line to Thames Valley - will be interested to see what is done given no witnesses.

Anyway of getting a helmet cam that can record this shit?

  • There are a number of helmet cams about, depends how much you want to spend. and how long you want to record for really.

  • Have you considered walking training?

    Very funny

  • Just got this......

    Dear Sir
*Thank you for contacting Thames Valley Police. The subject line of this reply contains a Unique Reference Number (URN) that has been created to record the information you have provided. *
The information you have provided about the vehicle you witnessed driving dangerously has been added to an observations list. This means if the vehicle is seen by Officers it will be pulled over and the driver given words advice about the conduct of their driving. Getting any conviction from the report you have made would be very difficult as the Crown Prosecution Service require certain criteria to be met for any conviction to be issued. The main thing missing in this instance is an independent witness (someone who witnessed the event in the same way you did, but is not connected to you or the offender in anyway). Without multiple independent witnesses the Crown Prosecution Service will not allow the case to go to court. Thames Valley Police does, however, understand the nature of your complaint and knows that the manner in which people drive must be dealt with if they are posing a risk to themselves and others, so you can be assured that the vehicle you have reported will be looked for..

    Yours faithfully
    *Thames Valley Police *

As far as I can see this means that literally no rural incident will be dealt with effectively.

  • ^Unless you have a helmet/bike camera, yes, sadly :(

And even then it can be tricky.

  • Report it - a friend of mine did that and then later the dude crashed the car causing criminal damage and they linked the two incidents together and charged him - doit, doitnow!

  • This appears to be a much better response than the Met or City come up with.

I was thinking exactly the same thing. Don't think we can realistically expect them to offer to send CO19 round to the door of every driver reported for dodgy motoring, especially without any witnesses.

  • reported to National Express just now, the usual blah blah blah... and more blah blah blah, will probably get a standard letter of apologies in the post in a couple of weeks or so, but I did ask them if they could look into these:

    1. Give extra training to drivers how to drive safely in non central london area, as I do think they drive a bit crazier when they are not in central london.
    2. To give the drivers instruction if not done so already, or give it again - not to drive onto bus lanes. I checked wit the police and they said it's illegal for coaches to drive onto bus lanes.

Here, I have done my bit, with the slightest hope some day, something will improve, until then, bring it on, fuck twat coaches drivers.

  • I always ask for a personal response and I always insist of being informed what actions will be taking / have been taken against the drivers in questions, and I always insists I don't need to know the actual ID of the drivers etc, but they always bring out the data protection crap, it's a never ending game, and at the best of time, I don't really think these companies actually take any actions against these drivers apart from a little friendly chat in the back office.
