300g of soup and 50 of Turkey!
'the hound' is coming to the pub tonight for socialisation purposes so i may have to have a pint of Guinness to celebrate!
i don't know if this will help :s

managed to resist the Guinness, some of my single friends really need to borrow Holly to take on the pull, she's an absolute magnet!!

71.7 today, but I don't care.
58 on VO2 max, up a full 6!!!!
FUCK YEAH!!!! -
• #3282
Does anyone else sit watching cooking programmes in the evening and then wonder why they feel hungry?
Also packing 3 snacky type meals for tomorrow is an absolute arse, i think i'm not going to last long eating like this, it's just too much effort!
-
• #3283
i don't know anything about VO2 max, but that looks like a really chunky improvement % wise, well done!
and weight wise, you're still a load down on the start of january!
but i look to be ahead in our bet! :p
-
• #3284
Ed but you work in a GIANT supermarket WTF?
-
• #3285
Do you guys put exercise down on MyFitnessPal? It says that I'm allowed around 2,000 calories a day for my height and weight, and that my ride to work and back burns around 300 calories. Am I actually OK eating 2,300 (or a little lower, as I'm trying to lose weight)?
-
• #3286
No. You need to create a calorie deficit.

Thing is I look fucking thin.
But I will catch you, and you know it :P
Wait till the end of week weight. -

@ sparky
yep i add exercise in, it's about 90% of the fun.
as i've said i want to loose 2lb per week my target was 1200 calories, so with a run in one direct 600 calories and cycle the other 200 i have been eating roughly 2000 calories and loosing weight at roughly 0.8kg per week over the last 4 months.
@ Zed
it may look like a giant supermarket but unlike our previous office there isn't an entire floor devoted to a staff only shop!@ 'brows
there's only a week and a bit to go!
i tend to loose weight on monday tuesday wednesday and then consolidate till the next week whereas from your updates in the last few weeks you seem to spike mid week and then loose plummet on a thursday and friday.I've got another stupid long run this saturday which has the potential to break me for a few days as well.....

Holy crap!

That Sainsbury's Ed doesn't do things by halves.

No. You need to create a calorie deficit.
Sorry, didn't make that clear. I realise you need to create a deficit to lose weight, I just wanted to check that people were adding exercise on. Didn't want to do that for a couple of weeks then have someone say 'no, those exercise estimates are way off' and realise I've been gaining weight.

You remind me of a mate of mine: once he decides to do something he researches it thoroughly, plans it out carefully and goes through with it like a robot. Impressive willpower.
Now that I've added my ride home and had a sandwich for dinner, I'm still 700 down. If I manage a run in a minute it'll be even more. I'll get to have some more dinner...

• #3292
yep, determined to a fault :)
i regularly end up 2 or 300 calories down on a daily target on exercise days but tend to go over a bit one or two times a week when i don't.
Target is now 1560 mind, and i am a shortarse so i don't need so much foodz as you 6fters
-
• #3293
I find it takes me a few hundred calories a day just to balance.
-
• #3294
oh, i do actually think the cycling calories are way off if you use average moving speed so i use journey distance/ time taken to work out average speed in total for each journey then use actual minutes.
i trust the running one though.
-
• #3295
Not sure I trust the cycling calorie stats either, as my cycle computer reckons I burn half as much on my commute than my fitness pal.
Calorie counters aren't perfect but helped educate me on the basics: I'm better off commuting by bike every day than nailing 100km at the weekend, exercise doesn't entitle me to a take-away pizza and a four-pack and fresh veg is the key. Usually a few 100 calories down each week but not losing much weight, which I put down to muscle growth : )
-
• #3296
I agree woah cats re the cycling but unfortunately at the moment I don't have a chance to cycle during the week so the weekends are the only choice for me and I'm working on my longer distance stuff in that respect.
That's where running comes in, I used to be able to run to work which I loved now however I can't so I'm planning 2x run during the week of an evening and I may even end up doing one at lunch time of that's possible.

69.3kg this morning.
Wow! If this continues the ed diet is gonna make me a millionaire. Ahem
I may as well see where I end up with this after a few days.
-
• #3298
Are you sure some of that isn't dehydration? I weighed myself this morning and I've gone up on the weekend, how the hell I've managed that I don't know - I was probably dehydrated on Sunday after the 42 mile ride on Saturday.
Had porridge for brekkie this morning, feel nice and full now, not sure how I'll feel come 10ish, ah well at least I've got the protein shake today to fill me up!

• #3299
I'm finding that if I have a small cappa or flat white as my mid-morning snack that sees me through to lunch. It seems to work even if I'm very hungry. I does require a bit of discipline to stay away from sweet treats at the same time but it is self-perpetuating i.e. I haven't snacked all week, I'm not going to ruin it now.
Down to 83 kg now. If I got to 82 I'd be under 13 stone which is a huge milestone for me as I was 18.5 stone when I left university
-
• #3300
Bainbridge that's brilliant news mate, well done. My next mile stone is getting under 13 stone too, my target is 11.8 (75kg) stone so I've got a little to go yet.
I'm the same actually. Even drinking a black coffee mid morning keeps me going till lunch. May alternate days between black coffee and protein shakes.
I've just had a nice black coffee, plan for today is to keep myself full on fluids (no calories) opposed to snacking.
Today is looking good (small evening meal and I'm set);
69.6kg this evening
wooooooo
being hungry all day was worth it, mebbe!
