  • It didn't fit over the tape. The bracket was already wide open.

Moved it left a little on the bar and fitted the garmin on the right of stem. That'll do nicely.

Oh I thought you were talking about the lockblock not the original light bracket...

  • ^ There's a thread on here about stuff that you can mold into any shape and use to attach stuff to bars. I can't find it cos I can't remember what it's called

  • sugru?

  • ^Yes

  • I think I've lost a split wedge thingy that came with my ribble headset (integrated).

if I have lost it, can spares be found? Ribble don't have any on their website under headsets-spares, so I'm a bit stumped. I also don't know what the part is called, or I'd have searched for it.

    -Ta.

  • split compression ring.

  • Usually an universal part, LBS should have one or two

    Thanks, this sounds good.

^ I didn't search for an exploded view because I didn't think it was a generic part, but cheers.

  • It'd be nice to find the original one, though. It's not under my bed so I'm out of ideas :-/

  • I have £300 to spend on a track frameset, which one shall I buy?

I have been searching for a while now, but every time I find one I like (foffa, eightinch, BLB), it gets slammed on here for one reason or another, so I have resorted to asking for help.

    Ta

  • That's clearly answered in the question.

Is it for tarck, or for show?

That's clearly answered in the question.

    Neither.

  • Well it's for the commute to work primarily, will be used for a great deal of riding around London. Obviously I want it to look nice, but I'm not buying it as a fashion statment, if that's what you're implying.

That list is great, but due to it being a couple of years old, I suspect, the two framsets in my price-range appear to have almost doubled.

Does anyone have any other bright ideas? Is the Foffa frameset really so bad?

  • dolan pre cursa and £100 left over for shiny things/painting it whatever colour you think is cool. next!

  • ^this, can't go wrong with a dolan for that price, foffa is over priced tat

  • Thanks for your help.

  • Does anyone know the name of those really expensive designer swimming shorts?

I think they are French, and I think they usually have bright patterns.

    Thanks.

  • Cheers.

    They're the ones.

Made out of spinnaker canvas (sailing is, after all, the king of sports in the gulf of Saint-Tropez), the new swimsuit dries more quickly in the sun and wind.

...hmmmm... I wonder what all other canvas shorts are made from.

  • Tiswas, this might be a bit of overkill for what you need, but here's a pretty up-to-date comparison chart for mobile CPUs listed by manufacturer. http://bit.ly/9IHpw1

the intel mobile CPU chart is here: http://bit.ly/wZYmta

If you poke around the site, there are desktop CPU charts as well. One of the newer low voltage CPUs might be the right fit.

  • ^^Noted.

I'm not sure I could part with the the £160 odd they cost, regardless of material. Going on what a cheap tailor made suit costs, I'm pretty sure I could have tailored swim shorts for a similar cost.

^^^^^^^^^^ re Dolan: Altho I haven't ridden one, £200 for a new track frame with half decent carbon forks, headset, and a seatpost is going to be nigh on impossible to beat. I'd guess you'd probably have to jump to the £400-600 bracket to get something materially better.

    Buy it now.
